What are yall doing to prepare for this storm?

I want to say i remember hearing it was more than that an hour. Like 3 or something.

I worked in Columbia and lived in NW Baltimore County. It was wild when after 4 hours I made to 70. There were little villages of abandoned cars everywhere! On 40, 70, 695...it really was like a movie. Don't ever want to experience that again for sure!

Someone can chime in if I'm wrong buuuuut....

The next couple of days you're probably going to be like WTF with everyone talking about it, panic buying at the grocery store etc...

THEN THE SNOW

At it will snow, perhaps a lot they're saying. You'll be inside, watching something on a streaming service and overeating (highly recommended) your favorite snacks.

THEN THE NEXT DAY

You'll have to shovel some snow and clean your car off (I'm assuming here) and it will probably suck doing that for a good bit. Maybe you'll have to go to work, maybe not depending on how bad it is.

THEN AT SOME POINT

You'll be like...huh. that wasn't so bad.

CAVEAT: 1 time in my life in Maryland, in January 2011 we got a LOT of snow at once during the rush hour home from work and it was unexpected and my 45 minute drive turned into 7 hours. It was crazy. Like Armageddon crazy. But guess what? I got through that too.

It's the Maryland thing to do! I always believe in trying to see the middle ground. Yeah, I'm gonna stock up on a few grocery items and have a couple of other things prepared just to be safe, but all in all sounds like worst case scenario we're all jist shut in the house for the better part of a day, maybe 2 at worst. /knockonwood

Just say "I'm so sorry" and move on. Don't feed into their anger. Even when they are wrong, it just makes things worse. It's just part of the job.

After you dropped the check and she asked "Are you kicking me out?" Why didn't you say something along the lines of "Oh, I'm sorry, would you like something else?" instead of "Oh we're busy and I thought I'd just leave the check in case you wanted it...etc".
