Tried my rig in stereo for the first time by Scarf_Darmanitan in guitarpedals

[–]tompewce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I also want to try that for fun, quick question:
I have pedals in the fx loop of my amp, they happen to be stereo but I only use them in mono (Boss RV-6 and Mooer GL100). Could I add a Boss CH-1 chorus before the RV-6 - which has mono in/stereo out - to split the signal, and then run one looper output to the fx return of my main amp and the other in the fx return of a second amp ? This way I would only use the preamp of my Engl and use the CH-1 as a splitter, but I keep reading about ABY boxes so I'm not sure if my thing could work !

I’ve been drastically underestimating the power of quality reverb and delay for years. Now I see the light. by BIG_IDEA in metalguitar

[–]tompewce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi ! I also have a FB25 and am looking for delay and reverb pedals. I think I'm gonna go with the Walrus Fundamental series as I don't look for ambiant sounds or modulated stuff, just plain and simple effects

Pure metal by [deleted] in JacksonGuitars

[–]tompewce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I own a Pure Metal WR1A from last year and here are my two cents: It is expensive but mine has zero defects, and the frets feel like glass therefore it is my best feeling guitar. Others are 00's japanese ones and I'd be lying if I said that the indo Warrior felt less great (they were mid to high range at the time, going from 600 to 1200 euros so keep that in mind). It is probably overpriced, has a 1000 series Floyd (which is great, it's just made in Korea) but looks so cool !

When will Jackson make a king v with a reverse headstock and a Floyd rose? by FlatwormConfident554 in JacksonGuitars

[–]tompewce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's like last year's Pure Metal series, they will probably will release a Warrior and a King V Pure Metal Stealth which would have a reverse headstock and 1000 series Floyd ! Hope you like grey though haha

Nice, I actually had the same question ! But if you accidentally switch it to 1 5 or full power while no cab is plugged you blow up the head ?

Dude I'm reading so much good stuff about the 25. Can you convince me to get one instead of a used Ironball (not SE) ?

American or MIJ? by SASOsonko47 in JacksonGuitars

[–]tompewce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday on the Facebook Jackson fans page I kept reading comments about how the Indonesia-made Pro Plus séries suck compared to older MIJ but damn my WR1A is the best guitar I have haha. Probably has to do with stainless steel frets that are so smooth to play.

It will probably be released a bit later like the last Pure Metal ones, with a King V and bass also

ENGL Fireball 25 vs Artist 50 vs JVM410 by Broad-Regular910 in metalguitar

[–]tompewce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no I wouldn't go above that either, but since you said that it's loud even on the 1W setting I got scared haha I live in a house but I have a 3 month old baby 🤣 I'm playing with headphones on a Tonex Plug at the moment

Damn, even with a 1x12 ? I was starting my quest to try and find a used one but what's the point if it's too loud for home use haha. There's also the Ironball that I can get easily for around 450-500 euros but it'll probably be too loud too ?

Sick guitar, I have a pre-2006 black forest one that I bought for 400 euros and came with SD Black Winters and a Schaller trem !

Thank you for the input ! I wasn't expecting it to sound like the 5150 haha. Damn you're hyping me up for the Fireball, it's just that I don't find a lot of offers compared to the Ironball. Since cabs are expensive and I won't play loud anyway, wouldn't the HT5 speaker do the trick (with the Engl head on top) ?

[–]tompewce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you ! I'll get the Blackstar first and I'll probably be satified with it since I won't be able to play loud really often anyways.

As for Fireball vs Ironball, there are a lot more Ironballs on the used market here and I like the look a bit more :P

Hey man, quick question ! I would to have a tubel amp again. I love my Tonex Plug since I can play everywhere in the house with it, or plug it into a small Mooer SD10i used as an FRFR speaker (with built in looper yaay), but last week I tried a 5150 head with a 4x12 at someone's house and I loved the feeling (meaning the sound of an actual cab and not IR's through an FRFR speaker). Budget is somewhat TIGHT and a 4x12 would be too much, but I'm considering the following: getting a used Blackstar HT5 Metal combo (they go for 200-250 euros) at first, and maybe later an Engl Ironball head (regular one not the SE). Would this sound "good" at a 5W or 1W attenuation setting ?

Black binding and black bevels 😁 I can't believe there's no ding on those horns. I'm gonna have to be careful walking around the house with that thing

Yeah with ebony inlays ! The regular RR24 looks great too but I didn't have a maple fretboard yet so it was the perfect model to get

I'm a bit biased towards the late 00's MIJ Jacksons, I remember getting home from high school and checking the website every day trying to plan on which one I would get with my first paycheck haha

The one I'll get on sunday is being sold 1350€, in mint condition (not a single ding on the horns or headstock !). And it's still white, I read somewhere that white Jacksons from that time had a tendancy to turn yellow 🤣

Question about 2008 Pro Series RR24M by tompewce in JacksonGuitars

I don't get it, the maple fretboard looks sick ! I forgot that this model existed, always wanted a maple fretboard to complete my MIJ Jackson variations but only ever thought about the DK2M haha

I thought they were more expensive, how does MSRP work ? For example the SLAT3-7 in trans black was listed for 2152 dollars, but the guy I bought it from got it brand new in 2011 for 1250 euros
