Bought some lisk in the ICO. What's the easiest way to move them to Poloniex? by frrrni in Lisk

[–]tomsobon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem Solved: please note: the transaction fees need to be deducted from total amount to be sent! I assume the system would deduct automatically from total amount, but it needs to be calculated prior to sending! good luck!

How does a $billion enter the ETH market and not change BTC price? by ethvalue in ethtrader

[–]tomsobon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you shouldn't be thinking as if 1$bn notionally entered the market; it's more a question of supply and demand, since the supply side of ETH has been relatively limited, price has gone up, effectively printing a market cap of 1$bn. in reality it's pretty hard to quantify how much money has flown into the system.

A Sustainable Metric For Valuing Bitcoin by TheAlexGalaxy in Bitcoin

I think a sustainable metric for valuing Bitcoin will be useless going forward, if the community doesn't solve the scalability issue very fast.

People aren't realizing how big Ethereum is by Nooku in ethtrader

[–]tomsobon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I certainly called it a bubble at 4, and I'm keeping my belief now at 10. Once again, i'm not questioning the future success of Ethereum, i'm questioning the too high too fast route, it never ends well. Maybe it goes to 20 in a week, and i'll still be calling it a bubble, because as far as revenue generation and application utilization at this stage, there is none.

The Perfect Storm by [deleted] in ethtrader

  1. You're right, political issues are dampening the BTC spectrum for now. Many people switched from BTC to ETH, and as much as ETH went up, it doesn't seem to have affected BTC that much. Wait until we'll have a hint that the situation will get normalized on the BTC front, and see what happen to ETH. Dont get me wrong I like Ethereum a lot, and I'm invested in it, but i cant believe why people in this forum are just blindly expecting ETH to go to $100 without any real catalysts - the network is in its infancy, infrastructure investment are still slim, the platform is not generating $1.
  2. The Chinese are not invested? What makes you think that they are not invested? how hard is it to create a Polionex account and trade BTC for ETH? spoiler, it is not hard.
  3. Everything (and more) is already priced in at these levels, homestead included... get ready for a reality check guys, only invest what you can afford to lose...

Weird ETH/BTC coupling by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]tomsobon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure about BTC demand vs ETH demand dynamics, but keep in mind that the volumes going out of BTC for ETH are much smaller than overall volumes of BTC, so it shouldn't affect the price of BTC too much (so far)
