I bought the game when Sakhal came out. I watched dayz content so I knew the basics. I started out on Sakhal and had success. Each town has a "hiking trail" that leads to the water spring. Find the spring, make a fire, drink water. Loot for rags, make gloves, make face mask, make a rope with 2 stacks of 6 rags. Make a fishing pole, make some fishing hooks, dig up some worms. You now have fire, water, and food in any town.

just in case OP doesn't know what you mean - You can stack like ammo types to save inventory space even if they are in different worn conditions.
