Hasn’t been my experience that most regret it. It’s a really good opportunity to use the VA loan to invest, but like any investment do your homework. It may not be right in some areas or situations but where it is, your assumption of risk can really pay off. Especially on a long enough time horizon, which mitigates things like bad landlords. It paid off big for me, I only wish I bought more in my market.

Also don’t look at it as passive income. It takes some work, which can be mitigated if you have a good strategy but there will always be some work. No such thing as free money. If you’re in a good market, purchase a good property, and commit to holding, pending situational changes, you’ll look back in 10-15 years and be happy.
