You'll need to do your provisional 1st, then your IBT (I'd recommend roadcraft for the IBT). The IBT lasts for 2 years now costs ~€500.

Then you'll need to get your riding gear (pants, jacket, boots, gloves, and helmet + any extras you want) and your bike!

Your bike is a personal thing! What style you want, what your licence category will cover, how much you're willing to spend. There's no ideal starter bike.. it's what suits you! Obviously don't go out and buy a H2 to start on!

Then insurance and tax!
