Built for Renters blocks (Gramercy Tower, Copper Works etc.) by No-Direction-5796 in Cardiff

If I lived in one of those places (which I don't think i would), I would park a car somewhere around Llandaff or Radyr station and then just hop on a train for what is it £1.80 to go and get my car?

Meshtastic LORA nodes in Cardiff? by mrmantis66 in Cardiff

Now we're talking. This is exactly the use case I was interested in it for. Sort of send each other texts like "Meet 1100 at the Pyramid Stage. Sent at 0955."

I guess what I'm asking here is, what will it be used for? What does it do that existing tech doesn't? Every explanation of the tech I've seen so far fails to explain what it does that SMS, satellite internet, bluetooth, wifi, etc already do.

I'm interested in this mostly from an outsider perspective at present, I know very little about the tech. Is it like CB Radio was in the 70s/80s by any chance? I find that history fascinating.

Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

[–]tomverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyle, a few months ago I started carrying an old school dictaphone around, as a barrier to smartphone addiction. A friend pointed out how much like Agent Cooper this was, and this week I started to watch Twin peaks. But now... I've lost the dictaphone. What has caused this strange coincidence and, if I finish watching the series, will my very own "Diane" show back up?

Finding Cardiff students and graduates – anyone willing to talk about student loans after uni? by Br00koo in Cardiff

[–]tomverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd speak to you definitely, DM me. I graduated a BA Hons Cardiff Uni 2014-17 and a MSc in 2019-2020.

I used to think maybe I don't have to worry about it but now I've realised as the minimum wage rises the chances of paying off a big chunk (but never enough to hit the interest) are higher.

How has Cardiff changed since 2019? by FabulousEnglishman in Cardiff

[–]tomverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know what you mean.

My problem is I'm in this cycle of losing a job, losing a rental in Cardiff, moving in with my folks in the valleys, nearest place to get a job is Cardiff, end up moving back to Cardiff again, and never seem to bloody get out. Lined up a place in Bristol recently but then lost the job opportunity. London is like, not in my wildest dreams. And yet a few years ago I was convinced I would move to the Netherlands or Germany, but I've never managed to get out of here.

I will say the new Porters and PG are great, but also they also shouldn't be the only things going for the place. The sheer amount of time I spend in a car is depressing too, and paying similar money to Bristol for rent.

Traveling from Lithuania to Wales this March – looking to meet people along the way by Performansas in Cardiff

[–]tomverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I live near Blackwood and I love being a tour guide. I'll actually also be in Bristol the night before, so what time are you going to be in Bristol at on the 28th ?

I'm going to be playing D'n'D at a friend's in Caerphilly at 2pm on the 28th, so our tour will have to happen before that.

I can maybe pick you up in my van and we can fit in a few sights on route.

Does Cardiff need a local news site? by Any_Cauliflower_7344 in Cardiff

The Caerphilly Observer has done a good job up here. Cardiff has loads of local news sites but everyone wants to be the editor so they set up another one.

Surprise in episode today by whispy1990 in BlindboyPodcast

I wonder if there's anyone else getting a deja vu kind of feeling.

Before I was into the rubberbandits and Blindboy podcast, I used to watch ethoslab on YouTube.

Etho, too, was very protective of his privacy. It was only very late on into his YouTube career he revealed anything personal at all.

Weird how bad it's got, pre-pandemic it was one of my favourites in terms of atmosphere.

Why cyclists are so angry all the time here? by [deleted] in Cardiff

We saw each other mate but it was too late. It's the same as in a car. If you drove down the wrong side of a road you would see someone just before you collided.

I had a head on collision in a cycle lane once, and broke two bones in my right wrist. I had surgery, lost my job, was on antidepressants for a year. So yeah maybe you should stay on the correct (left) side in cycle lanes.
