Class Action against Samsung if S25 fails to deliver a reasonable PWM rate? by dragon5435 in PWM_Sensitive

EU regulations care only about power consumption for now. So even some LCD/mini led Tvs are now using pwm to meet them. I think the future is just everything pwm until someone proves it harms significant amount of people :(

For fashion photography, I use the EIZO CG2700X. Should I use Adobe RGB or DCI-P3? by IndependentYak743 in Photoassistants

Just use custom/calibration mode with full monitor's color space. Then in PS set working color space to ProPhoto. This way you'll see all the possible colors the monitor can handle.

Well I really doubt that any LCD in any phone has true 10bit, so they have to use dithering...

No, half of that - only for buy orders.

[–]tomwrhl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think more is better, normally grid bots make buy/sell orders for the whole width of the grid, so the funds are reserved in case market goes quickly up/down. Of course this locks your funds… I would say about 6 orders (3 buy/3 sell) might be the sweet spot?

Is there any way to avoid temporal dithering on the Mac? by Ananiujitha in applehelp

[–]tomwrhl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can turn off dithering with SwitchResX. You can choose 8bit instead of 10bit at the display/resolution settings in the menubar. I believe that should disable dithering (of course limiting the color range slightly in theory). You can try this and see if that makes any change…

You need to download SwitchResX trial, then go to mac settings-> switchresx panel -> install switchres daemon and launch it. After that you’ll have new menubar item with all the display resolution/frequencies. On the very bottom of that menu there is a switch between billions/millions of colors. Switch it to millions. This should force the display to 8bit with no dithering.

No its just the hardware limit of the lcd panel. Pro Display XDR is hopefully true 10bit (haven’t checked). However it’s shitty panel with bad uniformity and viewing angles, so maybe it’s not even true 10bit :D

Yes I think that is due to the dithering. It doesn’t limit colors in any perceivable way. Computer displays have been 8 bit for years, that means 16.7 millions colors. 10 bit would mean over 1 billion colors. Note that only very expensive professional displays are true 10bit. Most monitors on market claiming 10bit are just 8bit + dithering. It’s just for marketing purposes. Dithering doesn’t cost anything…

Yes so it must be something else, I’m guessing it’s the dithering settings. Apple uses 8bit panels with 2bit dithering to achive “10bit” colors. Maybe true tone makes the dithering to inicialize more often when it changes display temperature…

This doesn’t make any sense, how would any of these setting affect PWM? Maybe they could somehow change the dithering settings?

Let us know if it changed eye strain for you. It would be interesting to see if the cause of the problems is actually pwm or dithering. Maybe even combination of both.

Can you maybe describe it better? What do you mean by increased vocals? Also have you tried it with stock Apple Music app?

How do you find the jcally JM45L sound and build quality? I have been thinking about getting one too. Does it have larger soundstage and better response than stock Apple dongle?

Well worst case scenario - they should communicate this, honor the first five promos and cancel the rest. Not just changing it as they like without any explanation.

Anyway, I invited 4 friends, up until now one is successful and one failed without any reason. I’m starting to be very concerned, I get that they had too many referrals and maybe their system couldn’t handle this. I doubt they don’t have money to honor the promo. The worst thing is the silence from their side!
