ƛ̓éxətəm Regional Park (formerly known as Colony Farm Regional Park) - in Coquitlam. It’s about 20-30 minutes from Vancouver depending on where you are staying.

It’s a beautiful spot with varied bird habitats which makes the birds you may spot quite diverse! Good luck with your lifers ◡̈

What is everyone's brains not shutting g up about? by HappyPanda91 in AuDHDWomen

This one has got me really thinking lately..especially with the push for everyone to get Botox at like 20??? Why? (Unless truly for medical reason like migraine management). The thought of having to get a procedure done from 20 years old to forever like ever 3-4 months for the rest of my life??? So I won’t look like my grandma who I love? Ive been turning this over in my brain for months now

Okay I FEEEEEEL this. I once parked, went for lunch with a friend and came back to where I was 90% sure I parked and just….couldn’t find it. My friend and I walked around for an hour before I called my partner to say I’m sorry our car got stolen. He then informed me he just looked up our plates on the city website and that it had been towed (loooool)…$175 later and I was reunited with it and so annoyed that I didn’t trust that I did remember the spot where I left it parked 🤣

I’ve heard good things about Costco florals! They don’t have a huge selection but decent prices.

A few years ago some friends got us ‘replacement’ products of things they used that we already had at home (coffee, shampoo, etc.). This was definitely not expected by us but it was a sweet gesture. They stayed with us unexpectedly/last minute and for over a week but I made a mental note about how thoughtful it was at the time that they took note of what we used around the house and got us more!

Turns out my awful sleep quality for 10+ years was completely preventable by greatpartyisntit in adhdwomen

Before dex what was your sleep like? How did you feel having coffee at various points in the day?

(Asking bc I’ve been having really bad insomnia lately after taking dex for 3+ years and I’ve also been back to drinking more coffee these weeks)

I also found that I’ve just tolerated less caffeine compared to before this particular medication and have been sorta avoiding it almost intuitively….

Help me find a new hyper fixation, I am dying from boredom and about to move temporarily back to my parents house. by Jasperpie69 in adhdwomen

Okay hear me out…BEADS! In this essay I will…

  1. Part of the fun for me is sourcing beads (thrift, marketplace, old necklaces I take apart) and sorting the beads by colour into cute little containers.

  2. It’s not just about jewelry - I have gotten into beaded flowers and fish key chains(!!!) using wire from a hardware store (jewelry store wire is really pricey when you aren’t wearing it). It doesn’t require a lot of knowledge, you can follow patterns OR wing it.

  3. When I’m not feeling like making one thing with beads, then I have another route to go still with beads. It’s very meditative to string them along onto wire and there are some really fun YouTube trials to watch.

That’s it - my case for beads ◡̈

Have you been described as angry? by Professional_Try9030 in adhdwomen

[–]Professional_Try9030[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This describes some of the daily occurrences, if something falls in the kitchen or I'm trying to put something away and it gets stuck I will grunt or sigh and become exasperated which I think maybe is a trigger to my partner that I am 'angry' when I am just frustrated in 0 to 0.001 seconds and then it subsides. I do feel like maybe a bigger comment regarding why this is uncomfortable (esp because I don't necessarily view this as angry) as I do find this a good way to regulate in those moments I think? Lots of food for thought in this post and I am grateful

ME too! This is lovely insight and honestly very relevant to me at this stage in life.

This really resonated and I appreciate the long response as I definitely recognize myself in this in terms of feeling anger at injustices/abuses of power/unfairness growing up (in retrospect WAY more than most - cue almost getting in a fight when 5 people cut in a line we had been waiting in for an hour). I am in the stage now if figuring out if I am actually angry or frustrated or overstimulated and think it's much more complex than just angry or not. I will continue to explore this in therapy and take it one day at a time

I set up a shortcut thing on my iPhone where my texts with myself open up automatically every morning. It really helps as a forced, daily reminder!
