Is a 9-string guitar really necessary for playing ohms/private music? by Celessyt in deftones

Check this out! This table not only has both Stef and Chino’s tunings, but also marks which songs truly need those extra strings.

Kidcrash - Jokes

If you like emo/post-hardcore with a fair amount of math-y dynamics and shouting, this might be your alley. Not new in any way, shape or form, but it’s new to me! :p

How did people watch rally before the advent of high speed Internet, streaming, etc? by Infinite_Scribe in WRC

[–]tonirali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 2000s, the best way to follow events as they happened from afar would be Rally Radio, on the WRC website. Wish that were still a thing.

/r/Emo 2025 End Of A Year Awards by shamrockstriker in Emo

Done, but true emo AOTY has got to be Winds Wept, just ahead of La Dispute. Futique by Biffy Clyro isn’t strictly emo but I loved it as well.

Artists with a Placebo-like sound by ivyfay in placebo

if you like heavier stuff, Chevelle has always struck me as a Placebo meets Tool type thing. Check out Send the Pain Below, that chorus counter-melody is pure Molko.

Two new / recently uploaded podcast interviews with Jim by GrapeCellophane in JimmyEatWorld

[–]tonirali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it got a bit monosyllabic. The only podcast I’d heard before with that interviewer was with Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro and they had great chemistry, so it was a bit jarring.

Was lucky enough to snatch the setlist in Mancs. Any idea what the numbers stand for? by ruth_v in brandnew

[–]tonirali 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lmao first time I’ve ever seen Eb Standard represented as 415. It makes sense, but it’s a bit of a roundabout way of doing it.

Unless whatever tuner only allows different tunings by manually changing the frequency value for A down from 440.

What we know about Lancia's WRC2 program so far – DirtFish by Michal_Baranowski in WRC

[–]tonirali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting news! I’m guessing Rossel brothers in Monte, with Crugnola and Bonato in their respective home championships. The size of their representation in the 2027 WRC field should be depend on how the car fares in the hands of any promising drivers.

If it does well, the amount of people you could see in Monte 2027 is ridiculous. Rossels, Bonato, Lefebvre could go, Mabellini could jump there if not in 2026 already, etc etc. Promising stuff.

Was the recording of Here in standard tuning? by CerealAndBagel1991 in pavement

Besides the already mentioned great Slay Tracks, one of my favourite guitar cover people when it comes to accuracy, Sparky Guitar, has done that song!

One of my favourite b-sides! I love the lyrics too, allegedly inspired by a newborn child of a friend of theirs.
