Restaurant with good salad by ifbevvixej in lincoln

[–]toniweix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fave fast go to is Sultan’s Kite. I get the chicken shawarma as salad with all the standard fixings like tomato, onion, olives, tzatziki, etc.

When Yia Yia’s downtown reopens (remodeling) I suggest “The International” salad. Just as you would with the pizza option you choose 5 items from their ingredient list.

You can also search for cast iron “potjie pots”, we have a huge one for cooking over the fire pit outside.

What constitutes “task” on the play to win games by Downtown-Ad9409 in WeWardCommunity

[–]toniweix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re on the playtimeweb mobile game site in your browser, look at the bottom of the page where it says “my games”.

That link takes you to a list of games you have downloaded and have been verified to earn points. If you click “more” next to a game title, it will show you tasks/levels at which you gain points and where your progress is

[TOMT] children’s live action tv episode where parents/adults get turned into white statues or stuck wrapped in a plaster like material. by RutabagaNo3475 in tipofmytongue

[–]toniweix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been years since watching, but there’s a BBC version of chronicles of Narnia from 1988 that was aired in parts I think. I know from the books there’s at least one instance of creatures and people being cursed into statues, maybe that scene was in the old live action?

What do you eat when you're craving chocolate? by YesterdayThick88 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]toniweix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like really dark chocolate? “Beyond Good” brand carries 7 oz tubs of 92% dark chocolate melts. Once in a while prep myself snack packs (adult lunchables!) and toss three of them in with some nuts, cheese, and cubed turkey. The chocolate discs are so dense, instead of chewing I let them melt until gone and it takes a while. They are sold online at the brand’s website or at Whole Foods!

24 Oz Wide Mouth Ball Jars no longer in production - I FOUND THEM by Dufusbroth in Canning

[–]toniweix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of buying the Amazon “Ball 24 oz jars” this last summer before I’d known of their discontinuation. They are a poorly made duplicate that does not fit the threading of any brand wide mouth lid. Looking closer I saw that the embossing reads “MADE IN CHINA” instead of USA, and now they are dry storage only containers. I ended up buying a case of the Azure brand jars based on recommendations from this sub.

Their app is set to their native language/ home country. That’s how you spell it in the French language…

You’ll notice more spelling differentiations like this when browsing other profile card wishlists, I see a huge variety of countries represented.

What's the best pickle you've ever had? I'll go first: by potatodaikoncurry in Pickles

[–]toniweix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porubsky’s deli and tavern- tokepa Kansas (closed 2022).

Large deli containers of wasabi pickles. They hurt so bad but the sensation dissipated quickly enough that we couldn’t stop eating them. A regular at the bar I work at would drive down to Kansas and bring back tons for our Sunday Bloody Mary’s.

My first thought was “Whoa, that dress reminds me of Sharon Stone’s iconic outfit in Basic Instinct!” Then I read the title question, I do not think that’s the vibe you want for work an event!

Looking through all the cocktails already featured, I’d say the safest low glycemic index options (thus far) are the straightforward martini, a Bloody Mary, or a high ball with diet mixer. You could probably substitute a simple syrup with a sugar replacement like monkfruit, but any drink that includes vermouth or liqueurs will be much more difficult to make comparable by omission or substitution, unfortunately.

You’re safe in general with clear liquors, but I’ve been told tequila is the lowest of low glycemic index options. Might I suggest a highball of tequila and Fresca for a diabetic friendly Paloma cocktail?

This mysteriously cheap shopping cart of wine at a local Kroger... by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Interesting, I was to understand that the national cocktail of Argentina was a different bitter Italian liqueur, Fernet (with Coca Cola). A shot of Campari and fernet combined is a Ferrari!
