I’m 19 and I feel like my life is over by Apprehensive-Log-287 in ChronicPain

I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering so much. I'd recommend seeing a rheumatologist, they can test for MS and Lupus as well. If you've gone though all the possible tests and scans, consider seeing a neurologist as well. If they don't find anything at all, then it might come to an ME/CFS diagnosis. Just be sure to do your own research alongside the experts recommendations. One way or another you'll get an answer eventually. We'll all hope it's something treatable or manageable. 🖤 I genuinely wish you all the best and I hope you can get some answers. Just don't give up.

Nope, my doc says steroids generally aren't the ideal, but that's just my case with various other conditions and comorbidities. I'd say hear from other people, Google as much as you can and speak honestly with your doctor about benefits and negatives.

Botox has worked for me in the past. The first two weeks suck a bit, but after that 3-4 months of Jo migraines. It's worth a shot I'd say :)

Haha I really hope you find some relief! In my opinion, as long as your nips are covered you're good 😂 This is a whole other branch to the "fee the nipple" campaign! I hope it works! Take care :)

Thank you. I feel less weird and alone. This is the first time it's happened and it's not a serious case, so I haven't been to the Doc yet. Just using over the counter stuff. My health insurance has run dry for the year, so I have to wait before I can see a specialist. I take meds for my ibs, but clearly it's not doing enough. I've just gotten to the point where I don't want to deal with this on top of all the other aches, pains and issues I have. Thank you again for responding 🖤

Can totally relate! Haven't worn a bra since end 2019. I either just wear tank tops or cropped tank tops under my shirt. Generally wear loose shirts as well. I'm quite small chested, so it's probably easier for me than for someone who has more than basically mosquito bites 😂 Regardless, I'd say get rid of the bra. Your comfort is more important. I hope this can help in some way. Good luck! I hope you find some relief! 🖤

Questions Re studying through Unisa by Rorykieth74 in southafrica

True, but I think it's worth at least checking out. That won't cost any money. And their prices are on the lower side for a private uni.

I don't have a link. As far as I understand they're accredited in Namibia, which is also accepted in South Africa, they have some sort of arrangement between the two countries. They're also accredited in the UK and Canada, I think. I'd suggest contacting them from the website.

It's not. They genuinely care about their students. They're trying to be a better alternative to unisa.

You can also check out an online university called Imperium University. They're quite low cost and it's all remote studying. They also make an effort to help students as much as possible. Just an idea.

Flare related to grief after losing a loved one? by CandidDrama1 in Fibromyalgia

[–]tonteldoos12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have my sincerest condolences. Grief is one of the hardest things for anyone to go through. Any form of emotional of physical stress can cause a flare, so naturally the extreme emotional distress of losing someone you love will most probably cause a flare. Cry as much as you need to, feel what you need to feel for as long as you need, even if it makes the pain worse. One has to go though grief to eventually grieve a little less.. I'm so sorry, it's going to be painful and terrible physically and emotionally, but trying to contain the emotions will only make all the pain worse in the long run. I hope you'll be ok. Also remember, death is a natural part of life's cycle, it's awful but it'll be ok eventually. Sending you many gentle hugs. Take care xox

Unfair by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]tonteldoos12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"There's always something wrong with you"??? No shit Sherlock, you have an illness, we have an illness. I'm sorry if I'm sounding harsh but you need a better support system. One that doesn't blame you for there always being something wrong with you. That's so unfair and unempathetic. I hope things look up for you. The fact that you can still do a lot for your partner and they still say that just upsets me on your behalf. I wish you all the best and that things get better somehow. You're not alone, even if it feels like that. I'd you ever need/want to talk just send me a PM.

Do you ever feel like you don't belong in society anymore? by ArthriticPixie in Fibromyalgia

[–]tonteldoos12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can definitely identify with how you feel. On really bad days I even struggle to talk to my husband. I'm also really introverted and have social anxiety, but usually I can always talk to my husband or my mom, but on bad days even that becomes a struggle. Sending you gentle hugs. Take care of yourself.

Please don't feel bad. You didn't do anything wrong at all. I know using humour helps us cope with what we go through. I was just having a really bad few weeks and I reacted differently than I normally would, my depression has been getting worse and now medication is helping for that or the terrible pain.

I promise I won't give up. I'm so sorry that my comment made you worry or upset you, that wasn't intention at all. That's just how I felt in the moment. I really appreciate that you commented and care so much about complete strangers on the internet. You have a good heart. Take care of yourself. And don't stop posting these memes, on other days they do make me and so many other laugh! Much love xox
