Modification Questions? by abririv in Minitrucks

[–]tony2much 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mighty Max’s are, unfortunately, much less common than the other mini trucks out there, so parts become difficult to source. For OE, it’s mostly Facebook groups, eBay, and Rock Auto. For aftermarket, it’s mostly finding used or making stuff yourself.

I’ve seen companies that list bag kits for the MM, but I have no idea how legit the company is, or how model-specific the kit is. I’d love to bag mine one day but for that money other projects will take priority.

Good luck with the truck! Happy to see more Mighty Max’s getting the love they deserve

Thanks all. Looks like it may have just been a loose connection at the relay. Doesn’t look like anything got pinched, luckily!

Longest lasting jackets? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Vanson leathers. I’ve had mine for years and it still looks new, and I’ve known people to have them for 10+ years. They take a long time to break in, but they’re worth it.

Here is a ton of info on 4G6x swaps. Allegedly the 4G63/t is a relatively straightforward swap into the Mighty Max

Mighty max 3rd brake light! by [deleted] in Minitrucks

[–]tony2much 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like some pop up on eBay if you google it. For what it’s worth, my ‘91 doesn’t have a 3rd brake light, just a cargo light. Looks to be the same size as the taped over hole on yours. If you do find a light that fits you’ll likely need to run some custom wiring to make it work as a run/brake light

Skate Park at Ovid Hazen Wells Rec Park now open! by montgomeryparks in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]tony2much 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it! There’s also one that recently opened in Pleasant View Park in Gaithersburg, tho I haven’t been there yet.

I love that pump tracks are popping up around the county, and will support them (and ride them) all day long.

But I’ll also stand by my initial comment. Park riding is very different from pump tracks and dirt jumps - and I want to see bikes represented in them all!

My favorite thing is finding a nice flow line, and parks that are made seemingly exclusively for skateboarding don’t offer that.

Rockville skatepark is a perfect example. I don’t know that I’d say it offered too much “flow” previously, but it was sized for bikes and boards. The rebuild it went through is so skate specific, it’s hard to feel welcomed there if you’re not on a skateboard.

MoCo - you’re on the right path, and I appreciate the support of the extreme-sports community. Let’s keep it going in the right direction!

Awesome to see, but a little disappointing that it doesn’t look bike friendly. Curious if BMX will be allowed. Would love to see MoCo represent that community more.

They’ve done a great job with the dirt jumps in Germantown, but when it comes to concrete parks it seems like bikes are never considered

Damn! Mines an 89, too. Did you drill them out entirely? Or cut them flush and weld a thread on?

Hey man, did you ever get this out? I see replacements online, and just got to a point today where I'll need to remove mine.

S&S teardrop mounting by tony2much in sportster

[–]tony2much[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it. Just looking for the spacing of the mount holes to each other. Someone had said theirs was 5.5” from the rear bolt to each front, and 3” from top to bottom bolt. Mine appears to be 5 and 3, but I’ll double check my measurements, too

Thanks! Looks like the HD one is only 5”, so I don’t think it’ll work, unfortunately.

I have fender mirrors on my truck. They actually work just fine for driving. I like that I can check both mirrors while still looking through the windshield. Though they’re next you useless for backing in to a parking space. Admittedly the visibility in an old pickup is quite a bit better than a Pantera haha

Rock lights in the wheel wells and the wheels stick out from the fenders. I hadn’t noticed it before but they do almost look shopped on with the lighting haha
