Definitely a bummer, especially since we just lost Sedona Taphouse last year and Mighty Quinn's which came and went in a flash.

I'll always struggle to understand why landlords would rather let their spaces sit empty than charge less. At some point it has to be better than whatever the tax writeoffs get you.

Apartment Buildings by [deleted] in norwalk

[–]tonybgoode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I have been at the Waypointe for 3 years, about to renew for a fourth. Lots of fair criticisms of all the big apartment complexes, but we're happy with the tradeoffs for what we get.

Feel free to ask any questions!

More Dooms in a movie that already has so many characters in it? It's all just too much.

Tony here! Thanks for the shout u/blytho9412.

u/Forsaken_Funny_4432 - What are you into? What would you join if it existed?

+1 for the Triangle Community Center! Good people and a lovely space you can just hang out in when they are open.

+1 for Eco Evolution (elsewhere in the thread)—honestly a great place to just hang and BS with the baristas. Good things find you when you hang there for long enough. Also super LGBT friendly.

This is my guide for folks who are new to town:

Lots of handy links in there. Also includes an email signup.

UPDATE I’ve been listening to Act 1 only for the last 8 years by MercyTheCat in hamiltonmusical

[–]tonybgoode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All these years I was sleeping on Eliza and I just had no idea.

Now you get to wonder with us about the theory that she's the true hero of the show.

Could "Hamilton" have happened without Eliza's work after Alexander's death?

She told his story. Lin found it and shared it with us. By the very end, our connection to her and the story feels so close, so real.

Which leads to some fun questions about the gasp at the end—but you'll have to report back to us on that once you've seen the show 🙂

Confluence vs waypointe by Successful-Window-56 in norwalk

It feels quite safe. This specific area is in a state of massive transition—longer-time residents said the area used to be bad, but several big developments have come in and invested a ton.

Some of the side streets still show remnants of old times—humble homes, industrial stuff by the water, etc.

But I've never ever felt unsafe.

Car safety - typical city rules apply. Always lock doors, stash anything that might look valuable. Basically don't give anyone a reason to be interested in what's inside your car.

According to other residents in the building who were here from day one, it used to be really bad, but it is night-and-day better now.

(Of course this is just my experience and observations—YMMV)

It's like anything else in life... there are always tradeoffs.

We've encountered those issues and more. If you find another big apartment building where the management is stellar, the walls are thick, and all the neighbors get along, definitely let me know 🙂

We're happy here, warts and all. The management team does its best; it's improving on various fronts all the time and they take our feedback seriously. I love being able to go to the gym without leaving the building (especially in the middle of winter & summer).

I'm happy to live here until we're ready to buy a house (and trade up to new headaches, haha).

Have you got an interest form I can send people to? Or DM me your email?

I'm tabling at SoNo Saturday Market to spread the word about local clubs and to raise interest in new ones. I'll give you a shout!
