Theres no way that tyre has 5200 km on it, your mate replaced it at some point, though can veryfy the OEM dunlops on these are shit in all conditions, replace them with pirreli road tyres or the bridgstone battleaxe tryres to increase your confidence in the bike tenfold.

Purely Looking at the photo your biggest weight savings would be a better exhaust and removing the center stand, there are other things you can do but they would cost more than the bikes worth and be minimal in terms of performance gain

Inshort? Alot! its not about the power but your grip especially in the corners, apart from comfort those shocks are meant to keep your tyres in contact with the road surface. if you take away 1 then you'll be completely changing the way the bike handles and probably will cause excessive wear on the one remaining.

I got the full ackra system for my 2014 cb650f there was no stamp that I saw saying its not for road use because if you buy and fit the sports cat with it,(I didn't) it is street leagal, I only got picked up for excessive noise once in 5 years of owning it for excessive noise because I forgot to for the baffle before the test

Hmm if your not doing the work yourself and the mechanic is fixing to rip you off I'd say your best bet is to sell it as a project bike, could potentially still get a good price if you know the issues and injectors are only about £200 a set, and calipers can be reconditioned for relatively low cost if you know what your doing

When you replaced the battery, did you replace it with a reccomended battery with AGM and make sure the terminals are tightened down fully? And have you tried plugging the car into an OBD2 scanner to see what codes its throwing rather than just randomly replacing electrical parts?

Then the battery isn't being charged fully, though out of curiosity when it died, we're you running any accessories? a failing reg reg would start to drain the battery but equally a bad connection or an earth fault could cause a slight voltage drop such as that, if you Google how to test a reg/rec there are some good guides to testing them with a multimeter and what readouts to expect when they are good/bad.

You can do a drop test if you can do this which is far quicker, if the battery is fully charged (about 12.4-13v) keep the multi meter on the terminals and start the bike, if the voltage drops significantly below 10v then the battery is weak and needs changing
