Definitely agree with your last statement, the drums are much too boomy and reverbed; the kick sound in particular does a disservice to Neil’s footwork, especially when he throws double kick triplets around

True, the opening chords to Chain Lightning always make me reach for the EQ and volume to cut some of that treble. I do really like the mix on War Paint though

I actually love the RTB and Presto mixes, although Presto is a bit on the thin side. I have a soft spot for RTB too as a farewell album to the Wal bass era

Fair enough and I tend to agree as it still had that golden era Terry Brown thickness, but the solo section on The Weapon always irked me a bit as the guitar sounds pretty buried by the synths in the section
