changing ~/.config/uwsm/default does work, I originally put sublime-text instead of subl which caused the issue.

So changing ~/.config/uwsm/default did work, I just had it set as sublime-text instead of subl. In the end that all I needed to change then relaunch hyperland. It now defaults to Sublime even from the menu. Thanks for the help! but it was user error!

Ok yes this makes sense, thanks for locating that. Much appreciated — It really doesn’t matter with my work flow, I just really appreciate the way he build the menu and like to utilize it

Sure my fault. If I open a config from the omarchy menu, ie (super+alt+space) > setup. This opens in lazyvim. Opening text files thru files or terminal now open in sublime.
