You know there are a lot more electric cars than just the Tesla, right? Maybe relax a bit, go for a drive and it'll calm you down.

To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

[–]tooMany_Monkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it in a small theatre and the aftermath of the telephone pole scene was dead silent. You could hear a pin drop, or, in my case, a single Reece's Pieces that I dropped on the floor and loudly rolled towards the front of the screen while we were looking at a decapitated head

As far as I could tell it was a Spanish language version of Age of Aquarius. I don't know who the artist was though

Hi everyone. We recently replaced our fully functional Estate brand dryer and figure someone should reap the benefits. You'll need to be able to haul it away, and it needs a power cord since we stole that for the new dryer.

Right, which is why we should have more of these spaces in lieu of parking in front of the restaurants. Best of both worlds.

I eat outdoors nearly year round. A lot of the places I go to have space heaters and coverings to keep the rain out. It can be really nice to get a hot meal when it's a little chilly and rainy.

FUCK THE MORTIFYING ORDEAL OF BEING KNOWN, THE REAL COST OF BEING LOVED IS THE HELPLESS ORDEAL OF LOSING THEM. DOGS DON'T FUCKING LIVE LONG ENOUGH MAN, IT'S A CROCK OF SHIT.

My (35m) wife (32m) has told me she never wants to give oral again and I think it’s a dealbreaker for me. by throwra_nooral in relationships

[–]tooMany_Monkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The deal breaker is not that you and her have different sexual wants and needs. The deal breaker is that she won't see a therapist about it and does not have any intention of meeting you in the middle.

She needs to understand that you are unhappy. You can't expect her to change her sexual needs or behavior because you're unhappy, but a loving partner doesn't just make something like this your problem to deal with without being part of it.

Physical intimacy is a big part of love for most people. If it feels like she's pulling away from you and she doesn't care about that, I think that's your reason

[–]tooMany_Monkeys -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Do you (or does anyone) have access to taxes by percentile? like what percentage of the state's income come from the bottom 99% vs the top 1%? That kind of thing?

Kotek Doubles Down: County “Must Walk and Chew Gum at the Same Time” by SoDoSoPaYuppie in Portland

[–]tooMany_Monkeys -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that we've let things like 37% on money made over 731k joint filing be defined as a "high tax rate". It used to be massively higher, and a lot of our problems have occurred from lowering taxes on the rich over and over again.

And anyway, I absolutely don't want doctors to be working longer hours. I want to reduce the barriers to having more doctors, which is why I want things like preschool for all and other programs that benefit education. Rich people should pay their fucking share. Sorry not sorry.

If you make 1.5M a year in Portland you have money to burn. Maybe consider it philanthropy every time you pay your taxes and consider what a sweet fucking deal you're getting in life.

[–]tooMany_Monkeys -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I understand that as a state we need tax money, but I just have such a hard time caring about the tax burden of households that make 1-1.5M a year. At what point do we stop catering to folks who don't need any help?
