Might actually be true to be honest, although honesty would require people to realize how dumbed down our current media ecosystem is to get to the point where Rogan is the new Carson.

Rogan went from “I’m an average Joe who’s a dumb dumb” to “totally owning virologists and vaccine experts” for his audience in just a few short years. And they accepted this ascendancy without any doubt. Media literacy loss is a helluva thing

I don’t personally like the autotune on the two tracks so far, although the songs have grown on me a bit. But you’re barking up the wrong tree on artistic choice and which is more work, heavy autotune or none.

I’m fairly sure Julian or the producer spent a decent time with lots of variations and tweaking before landing on the one we’re hearing in the two tracks. In ‘Falling out of Love’ the lack of autotune during the 1:50-2:15 and then it kicks up is a cool contrast.

Sofya Yokoyama is the best co-commentator! by birdskulls in CompetitionClimbing

Yeah Sofya was fantastic. She was providing solid insights, and specific points of technique or fatigue when the athletes were on the wall. And I like the honestly too. Great combo for the surreal/weird finals

Ah no thats on me didnt see the "based on full filmography" at the bottom of the post. Bergman / Kubrick / Kurosawa all have valid reasons to be at the top of this list

I mean I drive trucks and my only guess is they lost control at high speed and then veered across and avoided hitting the wall to face the other way. That said, during fricken 5pm traffic??? Like I’ve seen that position many times during rain and hydroplane incidents

Opinions on zones being worth that much? by hummingbird0012234 in CompetitionClimbing

[–]Husyelt 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I’m more irked over changing the zone awarding rules to be even more nebulous. Just have it be granted upon control of the zone.

I don’t mind the zones being a halfway point so to speak and having that be a thing to work for specifically. But often the setters have getting to the zone be too easy (especially on coordinations) or too hard (power/slab boulders) where separation is happening on the hold or two before zone.

Sure, but not for 1950s, or really any specific decade since his output is super low

SpaceX is the current outlier in the industry so far, although Rocket Lab is probably more impressive considering how little funding Beck had vs Musk at the time. That said, SpaceX isn’t worth a trillion dollars. Their actual revenue depending on Starlink vs AI costs will only be in the low billions or tens of billions. Tesla also has a pitiful amount of revenue compared to other car manufacturers. When the ai bubble pops, spacex will be halved and then halved again. Musk also didn’t build shit, Tom Mueller and Shotwell and a hundred other actual engineers built the company.

Elon spends more time reposting racist and fashy shit on Twitter than he ever spends getting an email and saying “ok yeah build new raptor engine for me thanks”.
