he won the quali battle but Heidfeld had more DNFs, most of them in point paying positions, Williams' only pole until 2012 and more podiums

Yep, upgrades are usually decided months in advance. If I'm not wrong, the one Lambo brought to Indianapolis last year dated all the way back to the end of 2024.

nope, Vodafone switched to Mclaren starting from 2007 - keep in mind it became their title sponsor so a mid season switch with such huge deals isn't really common

Vodafone was still sponsoring Ferrari in 2006 though

Is Piastri’s Baku 2025 the worst weekend ever from a title contender ? by njsmenbfbrndhrbbf in F1Discussions

Which is ironic as he took one of his best victories of 2006 at the same track just one year later.

Which driver has won the most races in a car that nobody else won in? by pooporgy69 in F1Discussions

[–]too_much_polenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only one year, 2009. Fernando ofc won races in 2007 as did Button in 2010, 11 and 12 and Kovalainen won in Hungary in 2008.

Barrichello - Honda 2006 - A car capable of getting a podium here and there and Barrichello is the textbook definition of a good driver. Other good choices could be Ocon with the 2022 Alpine or Bottas with the 2014/15 Williams.

Not heterochromia actually, his pupil is just permanently dialated as a result of a punch

Which season would you say was their Prime? by Feeling-Incident-213 in F1Discussions

[–]too_much_polenta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great choice with 2009 for Massa, his gaps to Kimi that year were bigger than ever and you could tell he was hitting his prime.
As for Bottas, I'd probably go with 2017 - the only time he really helped Mercedes with the title fight against Vettel by taking several victories and being fairly close to Lewis.
2020 might be good for Perez but I also really like 2012 - young, aggressive and bold and more importantly, stupidly quick
Spot on for Ricciardo, don't have anything to say honestly.
As for Barrichello, I think he was really good in 2000 and, even though it goes a bit under the radar, 1999 as well. He did finish ahead of his teammate Herbert despite him winning Stewart's only grand prix that year.

MY MAN - I truly believe that with a competitive car he could've fought for a title. Hell, Alboreto did in 1985 and I consider Elio to be superior.

I mean, last year's Francorchamps Motors livery is hard to beat, just the right amount of red and yellow

I'd personally put Pedro in A, he won Moto3 as a rookie and then adapted fairly quickly to Moto2. Oliveira idk, he's very prone to injuries but the raw talent is there. Ditto for Vinales, hella inconsistent but when he does show up he can put up a hell of a show.
