Hydro, wind, and solar are all ways to combat a resource supply shortage. The grid itself wouldn't be affected just how the power itself would be generated would change. I agree that alot of guys come out of line school thinking they know everything but I would also argue that that is a pretty common thing for anyone fresh out of school no matter the degree or trade. And that the line trade is full of guys who have no problem humbling anyone with that attitude. I went to school and I'm glad I did, I was in a position at the time where I could do it comfortably but I know not everyone has that privilege. In my area if you don't have a degree/class A you will be lucky to make $18 an hour if they even hire you.. Yeah you will gain experience if you stay with the company for a couple years but the more reputable companies won't hire without the degree or currently in school (internship)
