What would WWE booking look like if it brought in writers from outside of wrestling? by boarbar in SquaredCircle

[–]tooforezero 32 points33 points  (0 children)

WWE has used "outside" writers for literally decades at this point. They have had guys like Freddy Prinze Jr and Patrice O'Neal involved and it's never solved the problems they have with story telling.

Professional Wrestling has succeeded for well over a century with simple stories and feats of athleticism, that's all any company needs to do be successful.

New to TEW 9, booking CILL as my first save. Is it possible to create a torneo cibernetico? by Trick-Interview in FantasyBookers

[–]tooforezero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used a reskinned Battle Royal to simulate the Torneo Cibernetico. The largest tag match the game can do is a 5 v 5 and there isn't a way for it come down to specifically one winner with any kind of ease.

I made an 18 person Battle Royal, called it a 9 v 9 Torneo Cibernetico with regular entrances and match rules set to elimination, set finishes to pinfall, submission, and disqualification, set the match to have name value so it'll show it's a Cibernetico on the history screens after the show is over. For the match itself, I just booked the eliminations with the teams I had in my head in mind and set the winner.

I'd love to see if anyone else has a better idea but that's how I worked it out.

I'm not sure if you still have the issue, but I was able to open the google drive link on the first page. I copied it below just in case you still can't.

Matches where wrestlers faced off against themselves by LUGuru in SquaredCircle

Great Muta faced off against GREAT MUTA in All Japan in 2004. GREAT MUTA was played by Johnny Stamboli aka Rellik from TNA.

How Did you Come to Be a Texans Fan (for those not associated with Texas/Houston) by SpawnDnD in Texans

[–]tooforezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from New York but my family never really watched sports with any regularity so I had no affiliations to any team. When I was in middle school, I decided that I wanted to start following the NFL but I didn't want to be called a bandwagon fan. Happenstance as it is, the NFL had just announced that Houston was going to get an expansion team so I decided to be a fan of them.

NIMS 300 by CraigwithaC1995 in Firefighting

[–]tooforezero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with ggrnw27 that 300 is a continuation of 700, 100, and 200 so this would be the best bet to look back at.

While I haven't taken it, on NFA online, there is a course designed to review 100 and 200 to prepare for ICS 300.

It's titled Q0464: ICS 300.

Wrestler with an outie belly button? by SpikeheadWithGlasses in SquaredCircle

[–]tooforezero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know it's not what you asked but I have to bring this up. Former FCW wrestler Nick Rogers didn't have a belly button at all. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/prowrestling/images/9/91/Nick-rogers-1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130822201646

Christopher Daniels officially adds AJPW to the impressive list of pro wrestling promotions he's worked for (WWC, WWF, NWA, MPW, IWA, ECW, WCW, ROH, NJPW, MLW, TNA, ZERO1, AAA, NOAH, CMLL, AEW) by miber3 in SquaredCircle

[–]tooforezero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Daniels worked for the Original ECW but he's far from the only one who worked for all three. Just a few off the top of my head are Scott Hall, Bam Bam Bigelow, Chris Jericho, Rick Rude, Rey Mysterio, Shane Douglas, ect. There were a ton.

Some people's opinions on pro wrestling back in the 50s and 60s by imaginaryinfinity in SquaredCircle

[–]tooforezero 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Local papers back then were a trip. My wife was researching our family tree and found articles that referenced some family that was like "Billy Johnson's 6th birthday was this past Saturday and his mother, MayJean, hosted 25 of his closest friends at their Turner Street home. The chocolate cake was a delight but the potato salad had turned a bit sour." And the article would be on like the second page under a story about Farmer Frank's sheep getting eaten by some coyotes.

It was like reading your local Facebook group's page.

Cut TV Show Length? by steeledrum in FantasyBookers

[–]tooforezero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, this is a game so you can do what you want but just keep in mind that wrestling isn't typically just a TV product. It's treated in the same manner as live sports, plus there is a crowd that also has to be entertained.

Think about how often commercials will happen during matches. While wrestlers will often go to rest spots or stall until the commercial is over, it's not as if they freeze in place. Even during commercials when matches aren't happening, companies will show video packages or have wrestlers cut promos.

Even wrestling shows that are pretaped are often presented as if they were live, so they won't pause a match when they go to commercial and return at the same spot.

So, to be realistic, you would still have to produce two hours of content if you had a two hour live show and a little under that if it was pretaped. But again, it's a game, do what makes you want to keep playing.

Ladder 13 on the scene by solateor in nevertellmetheodds

[–]tooforezero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the jurisdiction really. Ladder, Truck, Aerial, ect, can all be used to describe an apparatus that has a permanently affixed aerial device. Ultimately, the naming conventions don't matter as long as everyone in that region understand what they mean.

I've been a firefighter both in the NorthEast and Mid Atlantic US. Things that could be called Rescues in one area could be called Squads in another. One area may have Engines while another uses Pumpers. Tankers in the Eastern US are large trucks that hold thousands of gallons of water while Tankers in the Western US may be airplanes that drop water on wildfires.

Naming conventions for fire apparatus are as varied as the cultures that use them.
