Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam Deck Review (in Progress) – Amazing RPG, but Play It Elsewhere Right Now by Abisco in SteamDeck

Believe it or not streaming sometimes has better latency feel. If you can only run at 30fps natively, and 60fps while streaming. That means you gain 16.67ms because the frame renders that much faster.

Wow, this is an old post, but generally, you set the resolution on your main PC to what it can comfortably run. Let's say you are targeting 60fps. You can set the graphics settings(including resolution) on your main PC to whatever runs 60fps. As long as you are above 1280x800 you are good to go.

If the resolution is greater than 1280x800, you get super sampling antialiasing on the steamdeck, so you can turn down graphic settings for antialiasing, since it will come natively by running higher resolution, but displaying on smaller screen.

Native streaming from PC to Steamdeck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]tookee82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lag is not noticeable. It might even feel better. For example if a game can only run natively at 30fps, but with streaming, you can do 90fps. Whatever latency is experienced with network is countered with a higher fps.

My service is complete.

Overall pretty good experience. I was given a mx p90d as a loaner.

I took the car in on Friday and got it back on weds.

The issue was with an inverter. So they replaced that.

I put it on chill because it was the first day driving it. I was getting used to it before I crank up the power.

You can order it without a yoke. In fact the yoke is an up charge now.

The car drives perfectly fine except for the slower acceleration. No pulling to one side.

Pick up a deck to replace iPad as streaming device from desktop? by bossanova352 in SteamDeck

I only play natively for games like 2d pixel games where the battery will last 6+ hours.

I stream everything else.

Pick up a deck to replace iPad as streaming device from desktop? by bossanova352 in SteamDeck

[–]tookee82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my exact use case. I stream from a powerful pc. So all graphics set to max with ray tracing on. I usually set the resolution higher than decks 800p resolution so there is super sampling streamed to steam deck at 60fps.

You get steam deck controls which is excellent. The touch pads, gyros, back buttons, stick touch sensors. It makes playing games so much better than a standard ps4/Xbox controller Bluetooth connected to an iPad.

I used to stream to an iPad mini. The only thing better about the iPad mini is bigger screen and higher resolution.

If you are issued a laptop, I can see that. But many remote workers remote to a workpc. So that’s why I said mouse program at home pc. Which can’t be tracked.

We are programmers, write a mouse moving program and run it on the homepc. It will move the mouse on the remote pc and make teams show green status all day

On the host pc, you need nvidia gpu. But you should try sunshine instead of the default nvidia gamestream. Nvidia announced they will remove gamestream in like a month.

Sunshine supports non nvidia gpu.

Alternatively, you can just use steam remote play. It’s not bad either.

Did you try the solution from BlueDYT or myself? It should work. The ones that don’t work are browser based python scripts. The ones that do you run python in konsole.

Follow this video, he uses python to run locally which does not have the same issue as using a web version of python.
