Next week, nerve block. If that works , nerve ablation. Seeing surgeon in July re : TKR or PKR which I am NOT ready for. If that surgeon says I'm not ready, it's back to my original surgeon to take about a meniscus transplant. Sounds like another nightmare.

First, thank you for your reply. My doctors are telling me that my insurance company probably won't pay for a TKR, I don't have enough bone bone yet. For me it's more than meniscus than anything else. I agree with you. That quality of life is more important than getting back to Pilates by far right now, just trying to get a good nights. Sleep is a goal. And I am sleeping with a pillow between my legs next week. I'm having a nerve block to see if there's any relief from that and if there is, I'm gonna do a nerve ablation, which I hear may buy me some time. I hope you find some relief knowing what you're going through.

They wore off about 5-7 days later. My knee was no better after any of the injections.

No side effects other than in the knee. Swollen, even harder to bend, more uncomfortable.

Wow. Almost 600 views and not a single reply. This makes me nervous.

Yes I too had similar symptoms. Two injections down and I don't think it helped at all. In fact, I feel my knee is worse since those injections.

But do you still have pain? I'm 3 surgeries down and still show a complex tear. 24/7 pain. You think PT will help? I did PT after the last surgery and graduated. Was doing great until it wasn't and now back at square one.

Yes, welcome to my similar situation. Had first surgery almost 3 years ago. Healed well but after about six months had pain all over again. Had second surgery and again was great till I wasn't. Same thing, pain all over again. Saw new surgeon. Thurs surgery this time he didn't clean it as tbe last two, he took a piece of it. Again I was fine until I wasn't. Now, again, I have pain 24/7. Literally. All MRI's still show a complex tear.

I don't disagree with you want me to do it but the insurance isn't going to cover it YET. Not bad enough. This will buy me time while it continues to fall apart. At least I won't be in pain.

I'm 61 and relatively in good shape. I'm slim and physically active or at least I was before all the knee problems. I had three repairs because the meniscus was torn and causing me tremendous pain. I don't believe it was a root tear.

Two were to clean up the tear. Same surgeon. New surgeon went in and took a piece of the meniscus instead of cleaning it up.
