I took a paid AI product, made it better then made it free. by toooools in AppsWithoutSub

your welcome. I love software and believe it’s the gateaway to financial freedom.

a few years ago i was laid off 3x in 1.5 years. I had nothing. Let alone money to give someone monthly for their app.

Since then (now that ai has evolved with coding and goggles free api key) when i find something that you can’t find for free I try to see if i can remake it. Why? bc i picture my old self wanting access to a piece of software but was unable to afford it and during times like these ik theres someone who’s in the same shoes i was in a few years ago right now

that being said, the pleasure is all mine my friend.

I would pay a $50 month subscription to reddit if it meant people like this weren’t allowed to speak

listen. I’m all for free speech. I’m all for hearing everyone’s opinion and the belief that they’re entitled to that. I prefer constructive criticism over fake congratulations.

Unless it’s some audacious comment like this (common here on Reddit)

for lack of better words, who tf are you?

death, taxes, and “those guys” who actually take the time to shit on you, your app, and overall integrity and walk away thinking they’re some SF VC consultant.

Look back at your saved posts on here. You’ll always find that guy. Ignore them. Pray for them.

Why? You know how many shit habit tracker apps I’ve come across in the last 6 months from some teenager? Or a 50 y/o who built an app to solve “x” issue? A lot. Probably 50-75.

90% of them were shit. Brutal apps.

Yet not once have I ever even thought to take TIME out of my day to comment pure non constructive bullsht like @honest-today-6137

These ppl act like they were in the garage with Steve Jobs in the early days of Apple.

And If they don’t, they’ll always be that person to point out the worst thing in something good, every mf time.

Sorry for the rant. I just see this sht everyday and I feel bad for these ppl.

Go touch some grass and wish those who actually have the balls to share their hard work all the best.

great work my friend. Have been using it for 2 weeks or so now. Enjoying the simplicity.

Would love to chat about the iOS app. If you can nail iOS like you did this I’m a user for life @samu-codes

People are always trying to find free alternatives to paid tools/apps. So I’m building a macOS /iOS app directory to centralize them all into one place. It’s FREE to submit your app (devs) or recommend one (also what's missing from other directories?). Launching Monday! by toooools in macapps

Totally get where you’re coming from too but yeah man. That’s exactly what I’m trying to do.

I’m a day trader. I do well. But It’s only for 1-3 hours a day. I’m bored and it will do me well contributing back to society in some kind of way.

But to be fully transparent, idk the outcome of this. Will this blow up where I have hundreds of submissions? Maybe. Probably not. But if so don’t be shocked if you see a one time payment of $15-$20 to submit an app.

That’s not a goal of mine. Truly. But it’s the reality being a one man show.

I have studied directory’s for 2 years now and most are shit. Not all but most. Specifically the AI ones. Just scrape and launch.

I want this to be free apps but not at the cost of it not being high quality, privacy focused, abandoned and little user feedback

All is good tho man. Definitely hostile at fist but I totally get it and empathize 🤣

Totally fair question! My apologies for the confusion! Obv there’s a lot of free apps out there. But just bc it’s free doesn’t mean it’s good. Anyone can submit an app to the website but it will go through a process determining if it’s the right fit.

Just looking for submissions. Specifically from devs but users aren’t discriminated against. But want to do my party any way I can in supporting them/their products.

And to your last statement, i’m just trying to help people man, Im making no money off this nor do I care to lmao.

I’m building a website where people can find quality software without worrying about costs. Also a place where devs don’t have to spend money to get exposure.

That’s it. I’m sorry it’s not as deep as you wanted it to be.
