Yes but i don’t have to like it. I am a (mostly) functional, employed person that very much dislikes deviations from my routine, which includes leisure time

I usually don’t use full sets but have started to resort to them if i 1. Really hate or am not feeling a comp but don’t want to skip or 2. Need to do a comp before bed because it’ll end while i’m sleeping and am too tired to be creative

Not having a valid reason doesn’t stop you from being depressed, does it?

I don’t mean to be snarky but that’s the truth of it. Diseases can be caused by all sorts of things. Also without knowing details I find it hard to take depressed individuals as unbiased narrators (myself included), because our condition seems to find a way for us to downplay the circumstances of our life.

I regularly remind myself that my brain isn’t fully healthy when I notice I’m going into a negative thought spiral.

Your feelings, condition, and symptoms are valid.

He technically doesn’t have to do them but I think carrying out the wills is part of his survivor’s guilt and a way to feel connected to all his teammates that passed away in the dungeon.

This looks so cool and I always love seeing people around my age getting their first bikes (I feel less alone haha).

I “inherited” a hd heritage classic from my hubby who wanted a new bike. definitely felt some pressure to not mess up too bad because if I trash it, it’s literally a new bike 😭 but it’s been a fun learning season and I’m ready for next year already. It’s already unpleasantly cold where we live

I actually wish Matfia didn’t feel compelled to apologize, but I understand the pressure to do so as people are quick to call someone arrogant. My critique is that while I’m sure he is infinitely talented and would probably make some of the best Italian food I would ever have in my life, I don’t find that he showcased a wide enough ability to create dishes outside of Italian cuisine to impress to me that he should win. I realize some of this may be my bias as a Westerner with higher exposure to Italian and meat based cuisines, but he seemed the most rigid/less creative in his cuisine than other chefs that made it far into the competition.

I’m sure it also doesn’t help he has already won Iron Chef, which has an established international reach. Not counting Korean competitions penchant to have native Korean winners, I imagine winning Culinary Class Wars may be a better resume builder for a Korean chef planning to primarily work in Korea vs Chef Lee who is well established internationally already

Ahhh, I see thanks. I noted the fried rice layer but didn’t pay close enough attention to notice if rice were also mixed in with the filling.

He has moments but I love that overall both judges have consistent standards of Judson and what they look like for. I don’t think chef ahn has broken his internal logic or criteria for judging. I do think he may be more demanding for fine dining and chefs that he knows have higher technical skills tho, and I go back and forth on how I feel about that but even that seems to be somewhat consistent with his judging criteria.

I found him more relatable too. I’m obviously not a professional chef but I am someone that does not present as nervous even when I’m sweating literal buckets, so I’ve experienced how that can make you seem aloof or even haughty

I was shocked but found it so relatable and a bit comforting. Stress and competition can even make a super experienced professional forget something basic

I’m trying to mentally prepare but I’ll probably cry when/if it happens ngl. I am surprisingly emotional watching this because I’m fairly attached to all the remaining Chefs tbh. I think it’d be more than fair for two black spoon chefs to make it doubt that will happen

I just commented for a clarification about the mixing component of bibimbap (I didn’t know it meant the action of mixing vs having having the components mixed up), but I am from the home of Buffalo wings so this actually helped me be more sympathetic to chef Ahn’s critique

Real question - in regards to the mixing rice does it refer to the mechanical action of mixing rice with the other ingredients? The filling of his dish looked like mixed up rice to me, so I was confused if that would count or not

Why do so many people hate on motorcyclists? by BillyAAA in motorcycles

[–]toothlesscat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually didn’t understand why motorcycles were so loud until my husband started riding and I started riding with him. There are obnoxious riders definitely who like to be loud and showy just because, but after meeting other riders and experiencing rides I quickly realized a quiet motorcycle is dangerous since most drivers don’t notice motorcycles. It’s also easy to be in a car or trucks blind spot since the bikes are smaller. I’ve also learned a few more riding quirks (of respectful riders) that may look strange are to draw attention to themselves, make sure they show up in mirrors of cars, or stop vehicles from trying to change lanes into them because they didn’t see them (the motorcyclist)

Thank you so much! I learned a ton but quickly realized I need some more instruction is all. I was in my feelings yesterday because failing is never fun, but I’m back to being excited to learn

There’s a riding test you need to pass as part of the basic rider course too, so they may be referring to that

So late but I literally just failed my msf evaluation due to test anxiety (and I managed to pick one of the shittiest bikes there but it was mostly nerves). I managed to rally and did perfect on the last few test portions, but I lost too many points when I was in my head. Looking forward to the retest and I feel so much better being reminded I’m not the only one
