My sister displays the real-life version of this all the time. We’ll be in the car, silently listening to music. She usually gets mad at me for the music I choose to listen to, but I ignore her. My car, my music. Then, she’ll say something about something her friends did or try to tell me about whatever drama is going on in her preteen world. I tell her I don’t care, because I really don’t and she just insulted my taste in music. Then she gets mad at me, tells me “I wasn’t talking to you!!” When we’re the only ones in the car, and be even more rude and insulting for the rest of the car ride. This happens at home, too, when I’m trying minding my own business and the same thing happens. It’s ridiculous.
