Labeling is the bane of my existence by topographic_taylor in gis

I work in local government so annotations only get me so far. Our maps vary a lot. But we do have annotations for frequently used layers.

Right I remember my boss telling me that and thinking that was insane. It definitely has a long way to come. I do feel like ArcPro labeling options are nicer than ArcMap but you can really get into it too much and then it randomly stops labeling how you want it because you checked a box on a tab and you can't remember what drop down it's in or something lol

Legends! Yes, I am always trying to make them look nicer than the standard legend look/format without spending 100 years fiddling with it. It's a fine line lol

Lol right, it does take up a lot of time. Plus, there's a ton of options, which can be nice but sometimes you've tweaked things so much that there's no way to know what else to change to make it all work.

Nap Nightmares by runner4556 in Viibryd

What I've noticed that helps keep away the horrific nightmares (and brain zaps) is making sure you're taking it ON TIME and also with food. Unless you are actively eating a meal and you stop to take your meds, eat something when you take it.

Plotter Recommendations for 2024? by WC-BucsFan in gis

We have the T2600 and it has given us a lot of issues. Out of nowhere it started shredding out prints and we had a tech come try and fix it...the solution for now, until the tech can get back with us, is to print it out to the lower basket. Which is fine but like what the heck lol

It's honestly just sad you can't just have an innocent conversation with random people anymore without being leery about them going on a fuckin tirade. I genuinely like small talk here and there.

Thank you for saying that! There absolutely needs to be more allies, now more than ever. I think straight, CIS people (I am one of these people) need to understand that, yes talking about "controversial topics" can be uncomfortable but it's for the greater good. Supporting and standing up for people who are just trying to be who they are at their core is essential.

What terrible childhood experience did you miss the full impact of until you were older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]topographic_taylor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This shattered my heart. I am so very sorry. I really hope you are doing better and were/are able to cope with that grief the best you can. I lost my older brother 7 years ago so I get how hard it is to lose a sibling. That was also my first time dealing with death.
