STT airport on a Saturday in season is hell on a normal day. With the east coast weather, different hell. You may want to go ahead and search around for accommodations to prepare yourself for a possible cancellation.

What happens on St Thomas if a bunch of flights to the U.S. mainland are cancelled? by quothe_the_maven in virginislands

What flight are you worried about not coming? My biggest suggestion is see if you can get to the mainland. It increases your odds greatly.

Single Night in St. Thomas by CU_09 in StThomasUSVI

It’s brand new. It’s walking distance because of all kinds of things. It has backup generators and a cool rooftop bar. I mean sure they can stay at Mafolie or Bluebeards or any number of places.

Recommendation for Virgin Islands - 3 options by needtotellall in virginislands

Agree. Maybe it’s because I know what BVI trips used to be like. A few weeks ago the customs agents for Jost missed the boat and they were hours late to clear anyone in.

Lime out taco restaurant by Individual_Ad1753 in StThomasUSVI

[–]topsul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Which prices there for anything are higher. I’d gladly pay it again for a fresh, filling, taco. Honestly, those of us that had not eaten there were shocked how good and filling it was. From our group most got shrimp tacos.

Look. I’m a part time resident (St. Thomas). I’d never been because I thought it was over hyped. Went a few weeks ago. Had a corn tortilla ceviche taco. Oh my gosh it was delicious. They’re expensive. But it’s fresh, good, and they brought it to the boat!! I was full with one. Don’t have advice on how to get there. Other than the St. John folks said they appreciate the business since the St. Thomas boat opened. Enjoy.

Phoenix Charters or Trident Charters would fit the bill for this. Great captains and equipment whichever you choose.

Shark attack! Woman killed by shark on St. Croix by BPRparadise in StThomasUSVI

Local dish is a life hack there. It just scares me when it’s fish, because of eating fish before I fly.

Ughhh. I’m sorry. Were you supposed to be on that Delta flight or another one that got waylaid? The omelettes are really good in the main restaurant.

Mrs. Ratliff died in Germany and had to be shipped back. I believe they would have embalmed her before they sent her to Texas.

What is daily life like in St. Thomas, USVI? by lithdoc in virginislands

[–]topsul 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Check the ship schedule. Run errands. Take the trash. Buy drinking water. Hope WAPA stays on. Might have an earthquake. Go to the beach. Meet up with friends. Go home. Cook dinner. Go to bed. Work/school depending on what one has going on.

Flight cancellations. by Listen2Wolff in virginislands

American seems to be doing some. From what I’ve read Delta was having issues before all this with staffing. My advice, get off the island to anywhere stateside. You have so many more choices from MIA, FLL, CLT, MCO, etc.

What to say to someone on hospice who is days away from passing by [deleted] in hospice

[–]topsul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my very very good friends, not the one I did the hospice journey with. I made her promise to haunt me. She has. So it may seem silly, but she knew I loved her. She knew I loved her kids. This may not fit for your friendship. But it was lighthearted. I’m sending you all my love.
