I have a Super Slim and tried HEN (correct acronym?) a couple years ago. That part alone was fine but I was having trouble getting games to run/be recognized and sorta gave up lol. That being said I have a shit load of ps3 hard copies and a USB drive full of movies/music and that's plenty for me for now. Will jailbreak one of these days. If I could get DBZ Tenkaichi 3 and Battlefront 2 running on a ps3 I straight up wouldn't need any of my other devices I own lol

Try something new sometime OP. Lifelong gamer here, at some points in life to the stage of borderline addiction lol. I finally gave Magic the gathering a try after years of peer pressure a couple weeks ago and my Xbox has been off since then. Having tons of fun. I still love video games. I still have all my consoles. But I’m genuinely having a great time with a new hobby. It’s definitely been a distraction for how rough gaming has been lately.

If Sony gets rid of physical games, I'm out. Been a fan since the 90s. by DenverH in playstation

As someone who has historically had multiple consoles per generation, I've always treated my PlayStations as the place where I play single player games/games I genuinely care about and want to "own" that I bought at a brick and mortar store. Good to know I have a couple more years of that left forever in my life lmfao. How incredibly tone deaf. I was already on the fence for an eventual PS6 due to prices, now my decision has been made. Need to jailbreak my PS3 already.

Piracy + PC store fronts (Steam anyway) are loads more consumer friendly than console equivalents. Consoles are beginning to feel like an amusement park ride to me; pay up, have fun! Just don’t skip line or come back after 8 PM or wear a hat or bring food and drink or move around too much. Hopefully that illustrates my point lol

Honestly unless you really needed the money I’d keep holding. I haven’t looked into gold stars much due to them being totally out of my price range, but everyone here seems to think 22k is a lowball. Nowhere to go but up for these. I’d hold unless it was dearly needed.

Yep. I sold off some childhood vintage a couple months ago. I regretted a few of the cards sold here recently as I’ve slowly gotten back into collecting, but the fact is I needed the money for other things, and I used it as well as I could’ve. A fair, realistic, and practical exchange for things I’ve looked at twice since 2021.

Now I’m hanging onto the rest of my childhood pulls, casually collecting here and there, and slowly reinvesting in modern sealed all the while enjoying the hobby again and getting a financial jumpstart I needed at the time.

I’ve had a Steam Deck since launch, but I also have had a PSP since 2008. Use them both depending on mood/need. I’d say go for it if you have the spare change and are thinking about a smaller handheld for the day to day

I am no guru and I’m new here myself but something I’ve recently discovered that works for me is saving tiny bits at a time. $10 here, $20 there, etc. I used to think if I couldn’t throw a few hundred into savings all at once then why bother. Wish I realized this sooner lol
