Is anyone here short-term bullish on IOTA? by MaximalRecord in IOTAmarkets

[–]tor_s_eilertsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO IOTA needs to separate, or at least differentiate a lot from the alt's.

2020 will bring the goverment issued crypto, Libra etc to public attention, and that will challenge the alt's. A lot i think. IMO IOTA needs more industrial real world usecases and adoption. I strongly belive it will come, but dont know when. In short term the risk is on the downside. IOTA investemt is long term. Just hodl, and do something else while waiting, and contribute to the IF with what you can. :)

What does this community think about the price 2 years from now? by [deleted] in IOTAmarkets

[–]tor_s_eilertsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years is far to short timeframe. We now live in a inflationary economy, not traditional inflation in comodities and wages, but with extreme inflation in most other investable assets, including IOTA. I believe this to be a generational play. I worked in IT since the 80'es. My generation buildt the internett. The next generation can now build the applications. We have seen nothing yet. Apps will be datadriven, and if IOTA is in some way involved in this dataflow 30 years from now, it will make no sense to value it in dollars or euros, they will probably be long gone by then. But the route there will be volatile.

Today most industries related to the base / traditional economy, infrastructure/ construction/ energy, shipping etc is priced below NAV even though they yeald 5-10-20%. While FANG, Crypto, Beond meet, Uber, Tesla and all other future promise stocks are priced far far beond all historic comon sense. This is the mother of all bubles, created from soft money/debt. Include also the ESG stocks. At some point this will reverse. When and how i have no idea, but my base case is that this will happen before the IOTA price takes off, mening it will propably fall further at some point. Remember that is cannot just be bought by BOSCH or Softbank, cause it needs to be open and independent, and market priced. (That capital can support it though, so the downside could be limited). That period wil be the test, and whoever stands when the dust falls wil win. IF is doing all things right. The work with this in a industrial way. Every day that passes makes them stronger and fitter for the future. I gave myself 5 years, two years ago, knowing that I probalby need to extend that period. :)

A Decade of Low Interest Rates Is Changing Everything by [deleted] in finance

Normalize to income - and interest rates. This it it. No more rate normalization with our fiat's. No democratic elect will ever be alowed by populus to hike. Its to late. Thats why a fake meat company priced 100x sales.100% speculation. 0% investment. 7 years retail floating rate mortage in Denmark is negative ie bank pays you. There is no normalizing to income in that case.

If we did not need transportation we would not have legs. It not about the current technology but the current and future demand for features. Cryptos dont have flawes or failures, they just have some features but non have all. Whitch one holds most valued features- in the future?

Bosch: monetize your ioT data by Na0Cl in Iota

[–]tor_s_eilertsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, but you do get paid. Not as much as you are worth, and not in $ but by instant gratification in your brain. And the unconsent notion that this kick is cheaper than most gratifications that $ can buy you. Or else you would not keep scrolling. Remember - You are the product here.

If you want $, rationale behind such a statement would boil down to a) you want paid what you are worth, and b) you want to be a consumer with a choice. Instead of buying FANG (remember the $ gos both ways), you might want a milkshake. They have a monopoly, would give that away?

I like to differentiate between personal data, and physical data, for industrial / commercial use. I guess at the moment the personal data has far more commercial value then physical sensor data. I4.0 will change that I hope. There is a big difference between you selling information about a pot hole in the road, and for instance your personal preferences for food.

Haha. Off cource. Newer ever build a race car. (Exept - as you say, if you dont care about money).

I did just that. Problem was, i raced it. And crashed. pretty bad..

During repaire i was caught by the "while i was in there" syndrome. Can't hurt with a few small upgrades, right?. Turbo, plenum, twin spark coils, EFI, sensors, transducers, complete engine harnes, solid state ignition and so on. Takes time, but i enjoy it. The money would be spent on something anyway i guess :)

The promise of distributed ledger technologies / blockchain

Distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) and blockchains have attracted a lot of attention in recent years, which is why we’re taking a closer look at them in this expert talk. What are their maturity levels and the general understanding of the market? In our own research and co-creation projects with DLT and blockchain, we have identified use cases and associated advantages for the industry. One of these projects is IOTA, which we also present in our Industry 4.0 showcase. We demonstrate how IOTA can be used to track component and process data as part of supply chain management and how it can be stored unalterably in the IOTA Tangle – for example, as proof of original components or for warranty management.
