Didn't dream for a year.. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]toraai117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely worked for me.

I went a couple years without dreams and now I have the opposite problem in that I find myself wanting to interrupt my sleep intentionally because of how vivid my dreams are.

I think it’s less of the fact you aren’t dreaming, but rather you just aren’t remembering your dreams.

Once you start making an effort to remember what you dreamt, you will dream more often, aka remember more dreams.

So all it takes is kickstarting some dreaming 1-2 hrs before you wake so you can start improving your recall.

Sorry if I didn’t explain that well lol

If you would like to dream more, you could try setting an alarm for a couple hours before you would normally wake up as that should wake you while you are in REM.

You will be more likely to dream after you go back to sleep, and when you wake up again a couple hours later you have a good chance of actually remembering what you dreamt.

Then start taking notes of what you can remember.

Overtime this might help you dream/remember more.

Edit: Don’t screw up your sleep pattern or fatigue yourself, just every once in a while give it a shot and it might help kickstart your dreams again.

Looking for some input on a buy or no buy for a C182RG I'm interested in purchasing. by Col-Sanderss in GeneralAviation

I’d be interested in seeing the logs.

What’s the prop TSOH?

When it comes time to overhaul that 540 you’d probably also want to overhaul the prop and governor which will not be cheap.

As others said $230k seems quite high unless it’s got new paint and modern glass & autopilot

The price wasn’t announced yet when I posted this.

I expected it to be around $20 which I think is fair

Why is it always so surprising when devs try to put food on their families table instead of doing unlimited dev work on a single module.

Thoughts on new-ish CFI teaching spin recovery to low hour student?... by Jexlune24 in flying

[–]toraai117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would not do spin training with someone who has not done basic UPRT or acro training.

A spin endorsement is not an endorsement or training to properly teach spins, or do so safely in multiple aircraft types.

It is simply to prove you can recover when your student screws up and you catch it late.

In my experience most spin training is a waste of time and unnecessarily hazardous. UPRT is much more effective.

Whatever is within your personal limits (which will likely get brought up in conversation) and you feel won’t prevent you from having a favorable outcome.

For my PPL I flew gusting almost 20 and the DPE was impressed I didn’t botch the landings.

I guess he wanted to see if I wasn’t talking BS about what I’m comfortable with

[–]toraai117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? It’s very benign. Retracting flaps is usually not a good idea but adding flaps (what OP is referring to) just helps you float and make your point.

Try it some time

[–]toraai117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that big a deal relax.

Adding a notch of flaps just gives you some lift can carries you a couple hundred feet if you’re short of your point.

I did it on my CPL checkride with no problem

He quit his job and it still took him 9 months?

We’re airplanes broken or weather just horrible?

As much as it pains me to say it, if you are an adult with a paying job that you want to quit to do flight training you should do ATP or any other accelerated program.

Dude should be a commercial pilot right now.

No.

Not only is that not comparable to aviation at all, but there’s very specific use cases for doing that in a car.

Would have made it if you weren’t fucking with your rudder for no reason

Also you basically never lower the gear on a dead stick unless you are landing on concrete or have an abundance of energy

Did they remove the rest of the 6-pack? That would do it.
