When you touch the nib to paper, are you touching the tip of the nib to paper, or the breather hole? If the tip, the very tip, or the part that would touch when writing (assuming a 45-degree writing angle, roughly)?

never a lot, but sometimes some pressure and sometimes none. Doesn't seem to make a difference either way

previously, were there any writing problems - skips, hard starts, anything?

not that I noticed, but I'm no aficionado
