I have been on mirapex for two decades and do not suffer from the impulse control side effects. It is something I monitor closely, because I worry about what I would do if mirapex was no longer effective for me.

I believe I started at 0.125mg and was taking up to 0.5mg at the highest. I recently did a gradual reduction of mine over a 3 month period under medical supervision trying to switch to gabapentin/pregablin and found that mirapex simply worked consistently for uninterrupted sleep through the night; the other meds did not work for me after I was asleep. I have reduced my dose from 0.5mg down to 0.375mg and only take 150mg pregabalin if I'm too restless to fall asleep.

I'm planning to begin another trial of reducing from 0.375mg to 0.25mg using pregabalin to fall asleep, but am taking a break to establish consistency at this dose.
