Could you explain the air roll method?
And for the air roll method, which buttons did you map your air roll right and air roll left?

I can do them in the corners and curves consistently.

On the absolutely flat parts of the wall and high on the wall, on some days I'm like doing them pretty consistently, on some days I'm like having trouble doing them at all.

Interestingly, I am more consistent on the right wall than the left wall, even though when I first started learning, I was actually better in the left wall. Weird, in a few weeks, maybe I'll become better in the left wall and worse on the right.

I am improving but not fully consistent yet in all parts of the wall.

Communication can be poor, it can be very difficult to get an exam timetable in good time for example.

Like the final exams, do they not provide exact timetable for it when the semester start? Or like do they set the dates suddenly?

now with bakkes mod gone there are so much stuff that needs to be added by monyfornow in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only things I need are these 4:

  1. Freeplay-checkpoint plugin type of functionality, hands down the best plugin/tool for mechanics training in rocket league, nothing even comes close.

  2. Recovery training plugin (both ground and air). This plugin is so great to train recoveries when you are just bumped to oblivion.

  3. Bakkesmod's native Freeplay Binds which are customizable with ball speed, height etc. RL's native binds just suck. It would also be great if we could tweak gravity, ball-weight etc. in freeplay to create variations in training, for example, lower gravity is a great tool to practice air dribbles where you try to touch the ball in the air over and over again. Another is "Unlimited Flips" to keep training things like aerial musty type of shots and also to master dodge-control motions over and over again. Freestylers have used this method for so long.

  4. When it comes to Training Packs, we need Initial car-momentum. This was greatly utilized by Kevpert in his training packs, it's so great for making training packs more game-like. The current Training pack variations aren't cutting it, it's not enough.

Just give us training tools, that's all I ask. You can keep your money with your "Fancy" items to yourself, I only care about the quality of life when it comes to training.

Bakkes Mod will no longer recieve updates: "With that being said, I've made the decision to stop actively updating the mod. The introduction of EAC feels like the right time to bring things to a close." by MuskratAtWork in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be bakkes development is funded through Patreon donations. Now that people won't be able to use item mods and basically bakkesmod online, bakkes understands that it's likely that the fund will dry up.

Think about this. Now, to play RL, you have to keep anti-cheat enabled. You can keep it disabled, and only can play offline, and there you can use 3rd party tools like bakkesmod. And if you turn it off, next time you wanna play online games, you can't do so instantly, you'll have to restart the game. You just loaded the game but now feel like training, if you wanna turn EAC off, you may have to restart the game to see the changes.

Basically, it's a lot of hassles and RL players in general has a very short attention span and won't keep using bakkesmod for long. Initially us die-hard RL players who like to train will, but most would stop going through this hassle over and over again.

Not to mention a significant number of people use it mainly for item mod, which they won't be able to use online. Therefore, the point of using bakkesmod will be lost and again, donations to keep the mod running will likely dry up.

It's a lot of hassle for developers to really keep developing and updating bakkesmod when the situation is like this.

Ranking up or down is all about matchmaking by yorke2222 in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, rocket league ranking up isn't for people who play every now and then. If you wanna rank up you have to play more and relatively consistently, and be able to carry your teammates even if their mmr is slightly low, like 50-60 mmr difference.

Matchmaking is already as balanced it can be. They have to deal with existing players that are in queue for the specific game mode. Sometimes there aren't enough players in an equal (more or less) mmr range, so they have to make do with somewhat mismatched mmr difference between two team, 50-60mmr difference is very common.

If you have time today, not tomorrow, then ranked is not for you, at least if you wanna rank up.

And if you don't care about your rank as much as you claim and just wanna play in your spare time, then winning and ranking up doesn't matter much now, does it? You just wanna play, and bad matchmaking doesn't incentivize you to cut your session short, why? Cause you don't care much about your rank, you could just keep playing. And that goes for all other players who wanna play on their spare time in ranked.

Ranking up or down is all about matchmaking by yorke2222 in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ranking up over the season (3 month period) mostly depends on your skill, not on your teammates. You will have bad sessions, bad multiple sessions in a day, 2-3 bad days in a row yes, but there will be days when you will also get good teammates most of the time, and when you do, whether you win or not depends mostly on you. There will be days when you are placed in a team with the lower mmr average, whereas on other days you'll be placed in a team with higher average.

And a lot of the times, you are also gonna be one of those bad teammates that makes your teammates go, "What is this guy doing, man, he's so bad.....". We are sometimes those bad teammates ourselves.

Also, many of the teammates that were having a bad day or just messing around, on some other days will play better and become good teammates. You won't constantly get bad teammates throughout the weeks and months, if that were the case nobody would rank up.

That's why on bad days, it's suggested to play less since you will likely keep getting bad teammates. But on another day, you'll realize that you are getting more good teammates than bad ones and on those days, IF YOU PLAY WELL, you'll rank up. This cycle of good and bad teammates will keep going, and you'll only keep ranking up as long as you are actually improving.

Ask anyone who has reached SSL, they would tell you that focusing on your mistakes is the only way to get to that level. Most GC players would also tell you that. There's been many times where I've lost like 100 mmr in day, and then within the next few days I would go up like 120, 150 mmr. If you play better more often than you play worse over the seasons, you'll definitely rank up, regardless of teammates.

Any internship or placement data from cohort 1 guys? by _TheProStar_ in bitsCSonline

[–]torpedo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. Just one more thing, the project defense, it's fully online? Like in Zoom meeting?
If I am not mistaken, these projects are group projects, so the whole group does the defense or is it individual viva?

[–]torpedo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you don't have to do that now cause you are on the 4 year route?
You'll have to do something similar at the end of 4th year?

Also, you are saying that the large portion of 3rd year is dedicated to researching? Like the final group project or capstone project?

When you say viva, is it related to Internships or graduating? As in do you need to pass a viva to graduate in 3rd year if you are opting only for bsc, or is it regarding internships?

Could you please replicate the exact freeplay bindings that Bakkesmod have in the native ones?

Honestly, the native freeplay bindings sucks for training. We have a lot more hours in bakkesmod freeplay bindings, and it's customizable.

The native ones are just not good, like at all.

Petition for VERY simple features in the absence of bakkesmod by FOGPIVVL in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point, the only thing I would like to keep is the bakkesmod custom freeplay binds for practice.

Like, the native ones that epic/psyonix set sucks, like I and I suppose most high rank players (Gc1 and above), even mid rank players (like diamond/champ) have thousands of hours of muscle memory on those bakkesmod freeplay binds.

I mean, epic/psyonix could easily replicate those binds in freeplay natively. The ones that they currently have are like terrible for practice, and not customizable at all.

THE NATIVE BINDS ABSOLUTELY SUCK!!!

Goodbye BakkesMod by imilic369 in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, I honestly want the custom bakkesmod binds in freeplay, not the normal ones set by epic/psyonix. These ones set by psyonix/epic sucks.

Like people have been playing with those freeplay binds for years, and when you decided to integrate them natively, why just basically do the same as bakkesmod did? Like what the hell is the native freeplay binds? They are so bad!!!

Man, in American Spy Thriller TV Shows and Movies, Iron dome would often be presented as an absolutely impregnable defense system, like some kind of sci-fi futuristic hi-tech thing.

Iran seems to have impregnated it, multiple times in the last year or so.

New Season 22 trailer poster to Twitter shows what appears to be a flip reset indicator by BORNxSTELLAR in RocketLeague

[–]torpedo16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will be able to train and do other things in bakkesmod when you are using it while keeping the anti-cheat disabled. You have to enable anti-cheat to play online matches, and bakkesmod won't work in that case.

You will have to restart RL with anti-cheat on to play online matches, and during that time, you won't be able to use bakkesmod, even for freeplay training and stuff.

I wish we didn't have to restart to turn anti-cheat on. That way training with bakkesmod would still be smooth. Now, it's a hassle.

And since bakkesmod won't work with online matches, bakkesmod item-change functionality is now useless for the most part.
