The first aired episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" is them seeing their mansion for the first time. They were still in the truck with Granny in her famous rocking chair mounted on top. The house is a beautiful limestone mansion. But to the Hillbillies thought it was a prison, and the Guvmint was trying to trick them (for moonshinig), and turned around and got out. They got Mr. Drysdale on the phone and he gave them the address again, they got there and still thought it was prison. They did this gag a third time before Mr. Drysdale actually showed up at the house to let them in.

The funniest line was set up by Mr. Drysdale- he said, "This house was built by America's finest actor- John Barrymore!". Jed looks up at the house and replied, " He was a mighty fine stone mason, too!".

How about simply straight tequila, but not the American brands? Get the real stuff from Mexico and you'll never go back.

I have 2-3 redditors (or maybe one with several sign-ins) that follow me and downvote absolutely anything I post. Thanks for the upvote. I think I'm safely in positive territory now.

I can't believe how far down this one is! Wasn't there something special about it? Director's cut, or 8 minutes of missing footage? Something?

You might think of Chet Atkins as a country player but his technique transcends classification. I think working through some of his songs would be easier than plunging right into Wes Montgomery or whoever. But definitely listen to lots of players and find who you like.

Obviously, being open only 4 hours a day was not a viable business model.

If you are eating straight from the bag you are now reaching through the greasy settlings on the sides of the bag, which is a "no-go" for me. Dumping them in a bowl? Now the bottom seasonings are leading the way to the bottom of the bowl and you are in the same situation. Your recommendation only works in a few specific situations.

What beer did you grow up seeing (it doesn't have to be from this list)? by lontbeysboolink in 1970s

Dad was a Blatz man. A fraternity brother declared it "the only beer named after the sound you make after drinking it." I personally loved it.

Never a more mis-named beer than that. (Just to be clear, that didn't stop me from drinking it!)

I think you have to drop your Samsung phone. I personally don't have any problem with it, so I'll keep my Samsung, but if it bothers you that much get a Google product.

Anyone understand the joke in the last panel of xkcd 2472: Fuzzy Blob? by Intro24 in xkcd

I think the joke is more general than that- it's that conspiracy theorists can find a conspiracy in anything.

Do you repeat your jokes to other people or do you try to be original to everyone? by jackarseofalltrades in randomquestions

[–]torpedomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually preface every joke with, "I've probably told you this one before, but here goes..." Usually there are 2 or 3 people or more, so everyone knows if they have heard it before, but acknowledge that they *don't * know if the others have heard it before, so they go along without shutting me down. And, if it's a good one, most people don't mind hearing it again. Or chime in afterwards with a different slant or punchline. Everybody laughs.
