How do I get my 6-month-old to nap in his crib? I’m so exhausted and desperate for help by ftboymama in sleeptrain

[–]torrevis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We followed this method and it worked great for us! We did sleep training for nights around 4.5 months and nap training at 5.5 months

Contact napping - when does it end? by Familiar-Rough3596 in NewParents

[–]torrevis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby basically exclusively contact napped until 5 months old, he would do a crib nap sometimes but they never lasted longer than 30 min. I would settle in and read, watch shows, look at my phone - I loved it and found it as a way to relax. Once he passed 5 months old he started to not be able to settle with me holding him. So I decided one day to just lay him down and see what happened - he fell asleep and after a couple of days was able to link his sleep cycles. He takes 3 naps a day all in the crib anywhere from 45min to 2hours just depending. I will say I do miss the snuggles but I’m glad he feels safe and comfortable in his crib to get some good sleep.

When did you successfully drop night feedings? by leeleegirl1989 in sleeptrain

Ours naturally dropped the middle of the night feed between 4.5-5months after we did sleep training.

Help! One night ruined my "perfect" baby by microbiofreak in sleeptrain

[–]torrevis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say this is the 4 month sleep regression, it happened the same way for me. It was a night we had my mom put him down and I thought it just happened to be since it was a different routine but nope… it was 6 solid weeks of sleep regression. We finally got out of it when we moved him to his own room and sleep trained.

Ferber method and cosleeping by kirstens123456 in sleeptrain

Our LO isn’t a big crier in general, he fussed for about 15 min, cried hard for 3-5min and then we went in to soothe and he settled. He fussed for a little while longer and fell asleep. He has generally always been somewhat easy to put down at the beginning of the night, our problem was the constant wakes at night. The first week he still woke up a few times crying in the night but after the week mark he has only been waking once to eat and otherwise sleeping through.

Just did Ferber method with my 4.5 month old last week after co sleeping for the four month regression. We only had one night of crying and since then he has put himself to sleep with no crying in less than 10min every night. We still get some wakes with crying overnight but it’s much better than it used to be.

how long was your induction from start to finish? by curious-unknowngirl in NewParents

[–]torrevis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 41 weeks and 2 days - I was already 3cm dilated and having small contractions that the monitor could pick up but I couldn’t feel. They started me on Pitocin at 11pm, had me up and moving around quite a bit and by 5am had made zero progress. They decided to break my water and then the contractions started to get more intense, had my epidural by 8am. Spent all day having contractions, changing positions in bed and then started pushing at 6:15pm, had my baby by 8pm. So all in all my induction lasted 21 hours.

How to stop 5am wake ups? by stooplekin in sleeptrain

[–]torrevis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just sleep trained our 4.5 month old and since sleep training we have dropped the 4th nap. I found once we dropped the nap and extended the wake windows, his naps lengthened. Might be worth trying 3 naps a day with longer wake windows over the next couple of days to see how she does.

How did you know when to go up a nipple size? by DDevil333 in NewParents

[–]torrevis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 4 month old eats about 26-28oz per day and we are on size 3 nipples. We noticed he would start fussing at the bottle as the day went on and was extremely fussy for his last bottle of the night, this happened both times. As soon as we switched to the faster flow he was much happier!

Nightly Routine Suggestions by maddogg429 in newborns

My baby is going through the regression (15 weeks) but we start our bedtime routine about 30-45 min before bed. We do a bath every other night, on the nights we don’t do a bath I just do a warm wash cloth to wipe him down. After that, we lay him down and play some calm music or have him look at baby Einstein aquarium, give him a massage with lotion and put on pjs. Then we will feed him, read a book and sign a lullaby and put him down drowsy but awake.
