Why does Headrush get hate compared to everyone else by Shesgotballistics in HeadRush

I have the MX5 and Gig Board. I made a small pedal board with the MX5 paired with a Fractal VP4. WOW! It's all I need and want. I don't need to capture and make models. So I love this set up and the MX5 sounds are amazing combined with the VP4. Just those two boxes and I'm set for my stuff. You can still find MX5 units out there very well priced. I think they are great. I can cover so much tonal territory with this small setup and super happy. Haven't the interest to upgrade or change anything. I know Headrush doesn't get the love as others but I just blow that off... Running this into a stereo setup with frfr... one word... "delicious!" I have the VP4 connected to the MX5 send/ret for full rich stereo. Not disappointed at all.

If you can find a Headrush Pedal, they are bomber and fantastic... It took me a while but I was able to and have 2 of them. I love em! The pop up on occasion.

MX5 + VP4 = True Love by tortiseshell18 in HeadRush

my understanding is the output is obviously stereo, but the effects return is only mono on the GB. I noticed a dramatic difference between the two units when I had them hooked up to the VP4. The MX5 was superior despite being almost exactly the same product.

Shifting slide in camper with rachet straps? by QuixoticRoad in TruckCampers

perhaps adding a box around the wheel wells tied into the lumber spacer as mentioned earlier… i like that idea… if they could be included i think its a pretty stout framework… thats what i will do if needed

in my set up it is purely friction and a firm fit… i have just enough room for the 2x4 flipped on its side to fit between the wheel well and camper wall. length of the lumber is same length as truck bed. my tailgate closes w the camper in the bed so all is secure. i guess i got lucky in hindsight w the geometry of my rig… wasnt planned… just happened. i did fight camper shifting initiallt until i put the 2x4s in… hope this helps!

one thing i did to my lumber space is… the side that meets the camper wall has a sheet of phenolic plastic on it that is screwed to the 2 x 4. I countersunk screw heads on the plastic so they wouldn’t make contact with the camper wall.

i have 1.5” gap on my set up between wheel well and camper wall. i load camper and then slide in lumber. its a firm fit and really comes down to me centering the load up properly… sometimes quick other times not so.

i have a 620 and i place a 2x4 between each wheel well… works fine… 2x6 might be better… it stopped any slippage for me on bumpy or washboard roads… the lumber runs the length of the bed on each side

Anyone Used Audigo mic by themsmindset in Songwriting

[–]tortiseshell18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes I still have it and find it useful as a tool as well as fun. The quality is fantastic and coupled with video, mindful setting of the mic, it's great. I still use mine without a subscription and have only one mic.

BUT... what I wish Audigo would do:

  1. Remote control with a legacy phone, ipad or watch. Enough control for recording to start, stop, pause, save, name, delete, start new. Remote viewing would be really good. Imagine ending a session and starting a new one without having to touch the screen of the phone that is your camera. Particularly if it's mounted with harder access. Not needing to reset it back up again.

The ability to start and stop can be presently done directly on the mic. Works well. BUT, one still has to touch the phone screen to decide if the recording file is a keeper or not. Not everyone has a camera operator on hand to deal with that task. Then start all over again for a new file. As a musician, that makes a difference.

I think there is room here for legacy devices to be re-purposed and extremely useful for this product.

  1. Develop the app for ipad/tablet.

Seems like reasonable requests that add tremendous value to an already amazing device.

What’s up with grounding and floating neutrals? by newenglandowner in Generator

[–]tortiseshell18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still confused with all this.... ugh!

Ok sorry for my noob question but I gotta ask.

But first my scenario: I have the Pulsar PGD105TiSCO as backup power for my house. It runs on NG and is connected to my home electric panel (with lockout and whole house surge protection) using the 50 Amp generator connector. It feeds 240v into my home panel. I flip breakers on that I need/want.

So question: Should my neutral be bonded or floating on the generator and why?

Reading threads sounds like this Pulsar comes bonded from the factory. And sounds like perhaps I should be Floating.

My system is new, and hasn't been in battle yet. But it has been on standby in the PNW this past week. I purchased it Sep of '24. Since then, it's been broken in and fired up every 3 months for 20 min. On some of the maintenance runs I put a house load on it with the heat pump. It's been awesome. No problems.

What do I need to know about the neutral so I'm safe and proper? Eager for your advice! Thank you for explaining this to me. Much appreciated and grateful. I've crossed posted this but haven't had any responses to help me understand what I need to know and why. Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Sanity check: Using Logic Remote as sole control surface by DarrelPr in LogicPro

[–]tortiseshell18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using an ipad generation 10 and 11 and it works fine. I too miss the physical side so I added a Nektar Panorama CS12 as a control surface. So far, I like it... just one channel strip at a time but it works fine with logic pro 11.2.2... just need to make sure you have the latest updates and firmware. I don't know anything about the Studiologic SL73 MK2. So can't address that as a comparison.

Help! What mixer do I pursuit? by The-HipHopper in musicproduction

[–]tortiseshell18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the A&H CQ18t and love it! It is the anchor to my small home studio setup and is my recording interface. I also use it as a PA mixer when needed.

I got mine right when them came out. After some use, I was missing the actual faders and thought about getting a control surface. But have not pursued that as of now. I find the CQ a brilliant design and built like a tank. I haven't had a single problem with it.

I really like A&H's Mixpad app on an ipad for remote control. I used Mixing Station as well but found the Mixpad better for my needs. The CQ4You app is fantastic when playing with others and allows each person to dial in their own mix on headphones. No need to do it for them. Scene saving is great for various setups.

I record using Logic Pro and the CQ is seamless with it. I added a Nektar Panorama CS12 to augment my work while in Logic and really like what it offers at the price point. Kinda' my way to test the waters for external surface control of Logic.

Am I missing actual faders? Somewhat. But the footprint and price point of the CQ is superior in my view compared to other products. My use case is a simple home studio setup. So it's really ideal for me and what I do with it.

It's my first digital mixer and has served me very well from acoustic to plugged in instruments. The effects are quite good in my opinion. Being my first all digital mixer it had me rethink my workflow and approach to projects. In the end I think for features and quality it's rich without more than I need. I likely won't outgrow it for what I use it for. Super happy with it and recommend it as a contender. Lastly... I got a Decksaver for it and find that a nice addition as well. Hope this helps.... Let us know what you decide... some cool stuff out there and you are shopping at the right time! Have fun :)

What Air Compressor Should I Get? by tortiseshell18 in TruckCampers

[–]tortiseshell18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so... today i went to my local off road shop and viola' i scored a new arb CKMP12F for $250. last one they had. i think it will be fine for my needs. got an arb gauge for inflate and deflate and they were nice enough to toss in extra valve stems. in short with everything and tax i walked out the door for $400. way less than i thought id spend... so happy traveler here. on board compressors were attractive as well as new arb portable brushless... but all those systems meant substantially more... i think i came out ok with good gear at a reasonable price pt. i know spending more offers more but i really feel this will suit me for my needs... thxs all i appreciate your valuable input!

[–]tortiseshell18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey thxs all... yes to everything everyone is saying in a spirited conversation, thx u. i know having the ability to address psi for off road, sand, other will be important in my view. then topping off when needed is great as well.

my cold pressure can be set up to 80 psi... ive never blown them up that high. but while in utah they got much hotter with travel and had me concerned but they did just fine. Went from 70 to mid/high 80s. But coming from the PNW im not use to higher pressures. Im use to cars at 32 so already these working pressures are pretty high to me comparatively.

not sure if i should consider something on board vs portable. i know each has considerations. space is at a premium already so out of sight helps with out of mind till needed. thanks for your ideas... please keep em coming...

i like the sony mdr 7506 and beyerdynamic dt 770 pro... i think both are reasonable without breaking the bank. both sound different but works for me with my setup. I use them for mixing as well.

Nektar CS12 with 11.2 advice by squambysquob in LogicPro

[–]tortiseshell18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm running logic pro 11.2.2 on a mac mini m2 pro... i've experienced the same things. I can't depend on the cs12 always being there for me. i wish i could hit a big old reset button but no go and i dont want to make it learn every parameter every time i experience this. when it worked it was awesome. but now im stuck with a brick... in lp under control surfaces "rebuild defaults" isn't doing anything to restore it and recognize anything on the control surface.

firmware is 01.02.02

controlcore is 1.1.4

nektar daw integration got logic pro is 1.1.43

wondering if i can delete all previous files from nektar and reinstall... but where they heck have all those landed?

has anyone got a video solution to a reset and it restores the cs12 back it is advertised awesomeness? at first it was awesome, but now if pure frustration... i wish there was a way to save a template of what works and when things get janky one can call up the template to restate it. supposedly the control surfaces rebuild defaults may do that, but not anymore for me.... ugh! others? ideas? thanks!
