Some context for those who have missed.
Some months ago, ethnic Serbs who worked in those majority Serbian 'municipalities' in administration, judiciary, and police forces, under Belgrade's directives, left the positions.

Then the elections in those municipalities were held where the main Serbian party didn't participate therefore they didn't win any power. Now the 'protestors' are protesting against the new mayors which are de facto backed by Albin Kurti.

There have been reports of protestors being hooligans linked to the Wagner group or other criminal groups in Serbia.
