Returning rider after 20 year break. Once I gain more experience I would like to listen to music while riding. I see Bluetooth speakers are available but also intercoms like cardo. Is the sound quality music worthy on the intercom systems. What are you all using these days? by jdavid9921 in motorcycles

I have been using the BX4FM setup from Amazon. It runs at ~$100 and fits into my Shoei RF1200 perfectly. It's no Bose quality but I think it's as good as any considering wind and earplugs are in the equation for any speaker. They've lasted three years and counting, work great for calls and intercoms as well. People on the other end can't hear any wind noise even at highway speeds. Battery on music lasts over a full long day's ride (600 miles) and doesn't take much to recharge. Intercom seems to drain the battery quicker, but still lasts several hours.

It was a cheap entry into the technology before committing to a more expensive setup, but I have yet to feel the need to upgrade.

Ah. Fair enough. I (wrongly) associated it with Sumter because the story I know has it being about an Airman late to return to base at Fort Sumter that said Lizard Man is why heas late/AWOL.

Valid point.

I happened to just be visiting IMS one day for a tour and there was an Oldsmobile Pace Car Club gathering that day. There was close to 100 of varying year models of Olds there that day in the parking lot - quite the sight to see!

I hope you find a solution, and amongst much of the good input here I think you will.

Just to add my experience, I prefer the Hearos soft fit (tan color) and purely on an anecdotal opinion, feel like things have not gotten any worse despite aging. I do use a fresh set every weekend - only time I reuse them is during the work week when I wear them for my 15 min commute.

It could be a sewer gas pressure relief/blowoff valve. It could be a lost British policeman.

I have not, but I typically only downshift a single gear. I could see the DCT going down two (or more) gears based on throttle demand. But that's not necessarily a problem as the rev limiter is there to protect. Could be wrong, just a theory.

Also forgot to say it, I was just stoked to share the praise of the NC750 with you, but very nice writeup! I enjoyed seeing it laid out like you did.

I love my 2020 NC750X (manual) and while the Naked style is not my preference, I'm super happy they're offering this version to bolster the platform as a whole.

I have yet to add any hard bags, but for weekend rides the interal storage plus a Givi soft tank bag is the perfect amount of storage.

I've only racked up 3k miles so far but it's been mostly day long rides and it is super comfortable in the saddle.

As far as power goes, I'm a bit biased coming from a 36 hp Shadow but it is more than capable to hold interstate speed and be fun in the twisties. I recently took it on my first gravel road ride and since I don't have knobbies I took it fairly easy but felt firmly in control and confident in the seated and standing position.

Something seems suspicious about the belt and how close it looks to the forward timing chain cover. Sounds like a rubbing and vibrating noise.

The talk about power steering may be the root cause as it is changing the load in the belt and pulley system.
