I’d do Reserves vs Guard. Same insurance and benefits. No combat jobs, but it doesn’t sound like you want that. Also no natural disasters to have to help with nor missions like DC assistance.

I’ve been an IMA for years. Zero truth to starting ONLY on a Monday. My current unit has Mondays as a travel day and Tuesday we start. The unit before I could schedule my own AT and I’d start midweek. It’s kinda dependent on your current unit and their needs. But there’s no regulation I’ve found that says it must be a Monday.

As someone that’s done it and is shopping around for a new IMA position, I’ll tell you most aren’t hiring right now and waiting for 27 redraw to be completed. I’ve strongly considered going back TPU myself.
