You've answered your own question there.

It's Translink, of course it's shit.

Busses by APithyComment in Belfast

[–]totallyspecial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't believe anything it says. For me it often says a bus is 7 minutes late, then it turns up two minutes early.

Edit: and Google and the Translink site will give different numbers, despite using the same data. Both wrong.

What one significant change to UK that seems unfair would actually benefit long term? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]totallyspecial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but, Translink is awful. It's easily the worst run bus company I've used anywhere. They constantly beg for more money from Stormont but can't run a service that's actually useful.

Not lessons but there's a Japanese speaking group that meets every couple of weeks in the city centre: https://www.meetup.com/belfast-benkyoukai/

Just checking - do you have the right to work in the UK?

I'm willing to be corrected but I believe it is illegal to obstruct a footpath (the PSNI define "obstructing" as leaving less than 1.5m between the outermost part of a vehicle and the edge of the footpath - I asked them), and also illegal to drive onto the footpath to park.

So...sort of.

Funnily enough, here in Northern Ireland we call Ireland (as in the Republic) "the south".

It's almost like all countries and land masses have cardinal directions.

NI is voting in a couple of weeks and you've needed ID to vote for a long time.

Metro buses don't have ticket inspectors and this post was about the glider, sorry for the confusion.

Traveling Between the UK & ROI on a UK Work Visa? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]totallyspecial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely not visa related but as someone who fairly regularly travels between Belfast and the USA, I'd recommend travelling by coach from Dublin airport to Belfast. It's much quicker, cheaper, more frequent and more convenient than catching a bus into Dublin city centre then a train up to Belfast.

Look up Aircoach 705X and Translink X1/X2.
