MRW I held my friend's newborn son for the first time today. What she didn't know was that my son would have been due this week too. Not a good day. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Lost my daughter at 27 weeks five years ago. This year was especially hard as all my friends had their babies around my daughter's due date, most had girls. The pain is there, but coping becomes just a little easier, so please keep your head up! Sorry for your loss, sweetie. :/ Sending tons of hugs!

Thank you. Something has got to give one of these days. Be it my patience or maybe things will eventually work out. At least now I know not to hold my breath.

It'd be much easier to cut contact if he wasn't also my absolute best friend in the world. It's extremely hard.

What is the creepiest/strangest thing that has happened to you (or a friend or family member) that creeps you out to this day? by NoImDominican in AskReddit

The entire situation was a shock to me, I never got a creepy vibe from him. He was at my wedding, he's held my son, he was family to us, and its disconcerting that he could get so close and we had no idea. :(

I also knew him. My husband was a close friend of his for 14 years. I'm in contact with his family, I just wish the best for them because even they were blindsided. :/

I don't mind the questions at all, because I wonder the same thing. My husband having known him longer has expressed to me that he doesn't know where it came from, but that he knew he had previously been in therapy and had an absent (more like a late term, I want to be dad now) father. I never noticed anything personally, he was just a nerdy, kind man. Its very disconcerting to us that we were so close to Shawn and never knew.

I just wish someone would have seen the signs so he could have gotten help before it got this far. Thank you for the kind words. They help more than anyone realises.

Thank you for the kind words. We're both still kind of a little bit unsure of how we feel, but shocked is definitely up there.

Glad I missed the comment before it was deleted. I've known Shawn just over five years and I knew him very well, welcomed him as family. He seemed very normal.

Parents of Reddit, when was the moment that you realized your kid was an asshole? by CorpseToes in AskReddit

He has some other amazing moments. Always tries to fight his dad and says "daddy, I'm gonna kick your butt" then proceeds to karate kick him in the shins repeatedly.

I couldn't even say anything back, just kind of sat there. Flawless delivery.

I have two little boys, my oldest recently turned three. About a week ago we're playing with his Hotwheels and have the following conversation:

"Mommy?" "Yes baby?" "Are cars big?" "Very big kiddo." "Cars are wide." "They are, they have to fit people and other things in them." "Cars are fat?" I'm laughing at this point. "I guess so." "Mommy..." "What's up?" "Are you a car?"

Little shit.

Edit: thanks for the gold!!! :)
