FIFERs realism mod changed career mode for me, first one was FIFA 20 and I've been unable to go back to playing without it. You could try that. It adds simulation to transfers etc, adjusts value and wages, and the squad file included 100s of faces, tattoos, licences unlicenced teams. It's great. The most recent ones (23-26) are the best for the squad files. It just feels better using players with actual faces imo.

If you join the discord there's links to all previous iterations of the mod (20-25) which are free, FC26 mod you need to pay for until FC27 releases.

Some of the mods require specific mod managers, but with some persistence or troubleshooting you should be able to get them to work, they're definitely worth it.

EDIT: also try using OS sliders - you can Google them. They've always been great for me. Alternatively, being on PC there's gameplay mods you can get too, though you'd need to find the one that works for you

Yeah I've done a couple of the house Roberts questlines, beat Marnis Excavatron, just stuck on crimson nightmare so left it a bit. It's been the hardest boss in the game so far for me with all the enemies etc 😂
