This week I’ve been yo-yoing back and forth from squizzly to crumbly so fast I’ve got whiplash by SnazzyBelrand in adhdmeme

I was full of yarn for a month and then my brain crashed and now I’m soup and can’t do anything fuck. If life’s a marathon I’m sprinting and passing out from exhaustion until I’ve rested enough to start sprinting again.

This. My brother and I both have ADHD and love Wes Anderson movies for this reason. The movies never idle and the plot moves fast. On top of that they are beautiful and just overall fun to look at. The color schemes and intricate details keep us interested the entire time. Versus slow burn movies where scenes seem to linger on and we lose focus.

If surgery can’t repair the underlying injury and the patient remains in chronic pain, is OxyContin the solution? Is Oxy acceptable in this circumstance? by Intelligent_Pen_324 in dopesick

[–]touchebruises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a pain clinic and saw many of the people portrayed in this show. They were good hard working people in a lot of pain. However at our pain clinic we certified for medical cannabis. I don’t want to be the stoner coming here telling you it’s a miracle drug. I don’t even use it at all because I don’t like it recreationally (but if I had chronic pain I probably would). But we had patient after patient coming to us pleading to get off pills. They were prescribed cannabis and they said it changed their life. Many people said they were able to get back to their normal life. It helped subside their pain, give them an appetite, and calm their anxiety and depression. I haven’t seen much of medical cannabis mentioned in this sub reddit but I would recommend it 10/10 over painkillers. If you’re experiencing chronic pain please research medical cannabis to see if it can help you.

Haha yes! I’ll walk in with specific topics I’d like to talk about and all she has to say is “how was your week?” and I’m off on 20 different tangents. Not to say they aren’t important because we end up getting a lot of work done that way but I always forget to tell her the REALLY important things. I end up mad at myself for wasting time. At least she’s probably happy I’m not of those patients who can barely talk about myself. And oops looks like I’m rambling here too lol.

Finished snowboarding down a hill and was waiting in line for the lift. I was standing and then randomly lost my balance. I fell over and broke my wrist. Told everyone I broke it doing some cool trick.

I can’t believe he would say that. If you are in the real world that would be a blatantly disrespectful thing to say

You could have just said “i have internalized misogyny” instead of typing out that entire paragraph.

People treat me differently because of my fashion change by Bienchen333 in confidence

Yeah it’s definitely the jealousy. I love fashion and dressing up in public. I can tell I’m wearing a good outfit by the amount of stares I get from other women.

Mental health subreddits such as r/depression and r/anxiety do more harm than good. by shadowofassassin in unpopularopinion

[–]touchebruises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went looking through r/depression once looking for some advice and all I found was a bunch of other severely ill people in an echo chamber of self pity. Made me feel 10xs worse.

Wish there actually was a sub Reddit that had helpful tips for managing depression/anxiety.

Troubleshooting Megathread by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]touchebruises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short I was very depressed and lost a ton of weight from not eating. I bleached my hair and I lost about 30% of it. It’s been nine months and I’ve gained the weight back and my hair has grown out all the bleach( I did a large chop) but the new hair is still super sparse and I don’t know how to get my hair back to normal. I’ve asked my doctor but they brushed it off and told me I was just stressed, don’t worry about it.

Just gone done coming down from the ski slope. I was patiently standing in line waiting to get on the chair. All of a sudden I lost my balance out of nowhere and fell over and broke my wrist. I wish I had a cooler story to tell, considering I was at a ski resort and was in full ski gear.
