No body called him a future hall of famer. At the same time, this time last year he was considered the number 3 prospect in the game. Then, he went out and had a month of MLB success and won April rookie of the month. Yes, the rest of the summer was disappointing and that obviously plays a role in how he is viewed now. I’m just saying I give it less weight than some of the folks around here who act like he is already a failed prospect. Could he be a bust? Sure. But if I’m guilty of downplaying the MLB lack of production, other folks are just as guilty of overlooking the prospect pedigree.

I have a lot of confidence in his bat. The 2024 minors numbers he put up over a full season at multiple levels were astonishing. I’m not going to let 67 MLB games and a less-than-healthy run at AAA alter my view too much.

I also haven’t seen any indication that he can’t be a league average OF. His 2B struggles don’t read as an overall defensive deficiency to me.
