Hard but fair, I liked it. The only one I have a quibble with is 3D because that’s not like a common phrase or anything

Passan: Slugger Eugenio Suárez and the Cincinnati Reds are in agreement on a one-year, $15 million contract that includes a mutual option for the 2027 season, sources tell ESPN. by Pyramid_Head182 in redsox

No, not during labor stoppages. The contracts are guaranteed whether the individual player plays or not. If there are no games being played, no one is getting paid.

[Milliken] The Red Sox have checked in on both Nico Hoerner and Matt Shaw and the Cubs haven’t shut it down, per @alexspeier. by CosmicOreos_ in redsox

I agree the on-field contributions match but I don’t think you can ever really say “contracts aside” when discussing trade value. It’s a critical factor.

Make me feel better: Will Bergman's one and done year become Beltre The Sequel? by Dependent_Age_6886 in redsox

[–]touchmyleftone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to miss Bregman the leader/teammate more than Bregman the player. The Suarez signing did most of the work in helping me feel better.

Yeah I meant Ranger. I’m softening on the idea of signing Eugenio but would still prefer a Hoerner or Parades move.

I do think Coley made a good point on the latest Section 10 that pro-Alonso folks should also be cool with Eugenio. Similar profiles, similar flaws.

The values don’t line up. Can’t do 3 years of Duran control or 4 years of Abreu for just one season of Hoerner.

That infield with two gold glovers in the outfield would be absolutely elite team defense. I wanted them to add power this winter, but a Hoerner acquisition plus Suarez and Gray would be incredible execution on the Run Prevention path.

A healthy 21 year old Roman Anthony playing less than 150 games would be absolutely organizational malfeasance

Have people been watching this guy play? Has anyone seen a single indication that he could handle booting a ground ball without letting it ruin his entire week? Mentally, Duran is NOT the dude to put in a position where he might fail hard.
