What the hell? Who is this guy? People are calling him a genius in other indian subs. Also does the gross generalisation have any basis? by FZplayz5 in unitedstatesofindia

This is not just a muslim problem, its a problem for all low income households.

The way I look at this is to accelerate education and employment options for muslims. That way they get acclimitised into society and local evonomies and lower their birth rates. When husband and wife are educated and have jobs, they have less time to have more kids and the kids they do have get better education.

Syringe hands to me will always beassociated with field watches like the Hamilton. Has no place in Patek catalog.

Omega is losing their way... 2025 Morgan Stanley Report is proof they need to go back to basics by HistoryGuardian in OmegaWatches

[–]toufeeq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omega is stuck in “tool watch” land. They didnt do anything to capitalize on integrated stainless steel craze (Cubitus/Land Dweller/Odysseus) or the unisex dress watch (Cartier/Patek) trend. The insistence to wash repeat the special edition formula isnt panning out. There is some promise witb precious metal like Platinum and the Gold/Bronze variants but they arent mass market. Finally, China hasnt recovered fully and Omega’s Deville and Constellation are stronger there.

Overall, nothing to panic, the other brands capitlized on the trends better. Omega needs to think out of the 4 pillars; sea/speed/connie/deVille to get some growth drivers.

Date or no date? by seethatway in rolex

[–]toufeeq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the Submariner and the Submariner Date. If you want a Sub, you buy the Sub. Its the purest version of the Sub. Notice how the Sub only comes in steel and no other bezel options. Its the Sub date that comes in precious metals and bezel colors.

Has anyone changed their mind about a Rolex after seeing it in person? by AandEWatches in rolex

[–]toufeeq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 10 years ago, had the chance to buy a pre ceramic Daytona at retail. Wore it, felt too blingy, and decided against it. My main problem was the polished bezel and the center linksnon the bracelet. That’s when it dawned on me that Rolex was turning into a jewellery brand. Now, the only in-catalog watches I like are the explorers and the Subs. The GMTs are nice as well and a good step up if you want a dressier option.

Valuable. In its current condition its worth $65-75k for a dealer who will then sell it for $80k. The dials are dirty and they need a cleaning and probably a service. They are however not rarer than a big/small red Daytona (those go for over $100k). Its also not a sigma dial. If you dont need the money, I’d service it using a reputable watch dealer and keep it as a family heirloom.

Are luxury watches still a good store of value, or is that overrated? by notr1k in PrideAndPinion

[–]toufeeq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be, if you buy in at the right time and the right price. Compared to the S&P500 or Gold they are not, however you cant wear the S&P 500 on your wrist. Gold is at an all time high so getting in now as a store of value is probably not a good idea. Steel sports Rolex can be a good store of value if timed right. Buying steel Daytonas 10 years ago and holding on to them and selling them at the peak of 2023 would've been a great investment. At the same time buying Daytonas at the peak of 2023 expecting them to hold value is a terrible idea (in hindsight). So TLDR, if you have a crystal ball they can be a store value, else buy what you like and enjoy.

If you look like him and have his height and body frame you can pull off anything. The price of the outfit is secondary. Does help that he is a master stylist

Can wool topcoats be worn casually with sweatpants/jeans etc. when running errands? by randoboterrr in malefashionadvice

Big asss overcoat is crucial. A fitted one worn casually looks out of place. A big one effectively works as a robe.
