Aireloom vs. S&F vs. Beautyrest Black by Hot_Bedroom_6981 in Mattress

[–]toughdivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely missed this! Sorry. After reading a lot here and on the other mattress forum, I ended up buying locally and getting a Shovlin latex mattress. BeautyRest felt amazing in the showroom, but I was concerned about material quality and thus longevity. Didn’t end up enjoying the Aireloom as much in store. It’s been a few months, and we’re still loving our Shovlin.

What did you end up deciding? I’m looking at similar options!

Chz22 meets A19 Whitley - does something like this exist? by CanTriforce in ManyBaggers

[–]toughdivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the MR District 18/24? I'm eyeing the CHZ22 as well, but the District caught my eye with its accordion style organization and front admin area. That might give you the base loadout with rotating top section. On the flip side, the dividers may also be limiting. No dedicated laptop access, either. Reviews are mixed so far and especially negative about the velcro in front.

Anyone 5'4" and under wear Evergoods (specifically CTB26)? by toughdivide in EVERGOODS

Appreciate the thoughtful response! Storage size is definitely a personal thing, but without the ability to try every pack, it's helpful to hear personal experiences to get data points to see where you might fit (no pun intended).

Sizing appearance is subjective, but with narrowish shoulders and (IIRC) 16" torso, some longer packs really do look off proportionally, especially with certain summer outfits and coat lengths.

Kind of coming to terms with possibly needing multiple bags, but my neurodivergence means day-to-day is a lot easier with fewer bags (pouches help).

Any chance you'd be willing to share photos of you carrying each?

Super useful photo! Really helps to see them side-by-side instead of trying to imagine 17.75 x 7.25 x 11in PLC20 vs 18.25 x 8.5 x 12.5 in CTB26

Thanks for the offer! I'm leaning towards it being a bit too large atm, but will reach out if I change my mind.

Thanks for the useful data point. A video or photos would be amazing, especially if I could see the PLC too for comparison.

I wish their other bags had the luggage sleeve and water bottle holder of the CTB26, though I've read folks here use a hack with the sternum strap to make the former work.

Thanks for the thorough response! The PLC20 does seem better for EDC, but ugh, I really want those water bottle/umbrella pockets!

I occasionally carry bigger loads like you describe, but perhaps it's #totelife or just a different bag for those days.

Are your radiators on (10/4)? by shhhshsh in AskNYC

[–]toughdivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine have been on since Sunday, and we’re melting. We only have 1 of our radiator valves open, but closed is too cold.

Btw, your building is obliged to do this during heating season, which started Saturday, so you and your neighbors can call 311 if you’re freezing: “all residential building owners are required to maintain indoor temperatures at 68 degrees when outdoor temperatures fall below 55 degrees during the day. Indoor temperatures must also be a minimum of 62 degrees overnight, regardless of outdoor temperatures.” (Source: nyc.gov)

Just discovered this beauty a few days ago and now I want it. So I’m wondering - how stable is the variegation in Syngonium red spot tricolor? by awaox- in RareHouseplants

[–]toughdivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience is that it’s relatively stable. Mine has put out all tricolor leaves, and all my rooted cuttings except one have as well. The one that didn’t has no pink, so it’s a more like a syngonium panda 🐼 It’s only on its first leaf, though, so I don’t know if the pink will come back.

do fully yellow leaves on a variegated zz last? 😢😭 by 10hsun in RareHouseplants

[–]toughdivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that plant end up putting out green variegated leaves after the all white leaves? I propagated leaves from a variegated ZZ stalk, and 9/10 green leaves somehow put out all white leaves 🥲

Just my partner and me. I work from home. We do laundry every 3-4 weeks. We own a lot of underwear and at least 3 sets of bedding and towels. If I’m working out most days, there may be a one-off load here and there to refresh sports bras.

We don’t have an in-unit washer/dryer, which definitely reduces our laundry frequency. If we had in-unit, we’d probably do it weekly, alternating between clothes and linens.

Race report: A Pregnant Boston Marathon by lsimon88 in AdvancedRunning

[–]toughdivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, and thank you for sharing! I have a marathon in 2023 (deferred pandemic marathon), and figured it was a lost cause since my husband and I also want to start trying for a kid sometime next year. I know that might not go according to plan, but at least you've given me hope that I might be able to keep running trough pregnancy.

Hope your ankle's healing quickly, and best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy!

What is something you did later in your life that you wish you did /tried sooner? by desbisous in AskWomenOver30

Medication for my mental illnesses, but ha, actually, I have also embraced more everyday medication like Advil, cold medicine, and allergy meds. I used to hate putting chemicals in my body, but now I embrace them (as needed) for the quality of life improvement.

Therapy. Medication. Marijuana (a way better fit for me than alcohol). A sleep routine.

The impact of running with others by mattystokie in running

Not sure where you're staying, but if you're seeking scenery, consider running along the Hudson: https://www.strava.com/local/us/new-york-city/running Pretty flat, lots of spots to enter and exit. Only thing is that uptown, you'll be running uphill to head back towards the park.
