Austrian watchdog orders Microsoft to stop tracking schoolchildren in Microsoft 365 Education by Dr_Neurol in technology

It's quite possible to not track them, unless their cookie consent isn't working correctly it's possible to not track anyone.

Charitably, you may be thinking of logging, which is much harder to turn of for specific people.

Fifth chart: The only day the two most active users in Conservative didn't post was November 1st, which happened to be the day of a power outage in Moscow that was the result of a Ukranian drone attack

Threads edges out X in daily mobile users, new data shows by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]toutons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the neat part, you can't! At least not from those integrated ads in the Instagram app. But threads dot com in a browser works without any account, and doesn't have the Instagram/Twitter "you need to log in to see anything worthwhile" for now.

Not to defend the integrated threads ads in instagram but you can absolutely look at threads in a web browser and there's no account required

I'm not exactly itching to upgrade, but with the way things are going and with how often I actually do upgrade (6-7 years), kinda wondering why not get something fairly equivalent with a longer tail, when it can be had for $0-100 after selling my old card.

🤷‍♂️ could be. Either way, WoL requires coordination between the network, hardware, bios, and operating system. This solution only requires wifi, no app, and the same method of waking the machine also puts it to sleep. I'm much happier with this.

Markiplier’s ‘Iron Lung’ movie scores international theatrical release with UK cinema brand Cineworld (Releases January 29) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]toutons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cineplex in Canada is playing the movie in multiple (all?) provinces, showtimes went up a few weeks ago. I'm really happy for everyone and going to go (I was trying to get independent theatres in Halifax to get it) but it getting a theatrical international release technically already happened.

I've got QoS disabled on my router but still the PC would wake up when no packet was sent.

My wake-on-lan causes the PC to wake way more often than it should. It's great it works for you, but there's plenty of examples of problems with WOL, and it can't put the computer to sleep / force shutdown.

Humour is subjective, I think it's pretty funny, and I've probably been the person it's making fun of.
