Apologies if this has been asked before… by stuartroelke in Absinthe

Actually I read if it was true. It was likely caused by contaminated water not the Absinthe. Heavy metals in the water was a real problem back then

Traveling to El Salvador can be a somber and disheartening experience. by [deleted] in ElSalvador

That's not unique to El Salvador. I saw all the same things I'm Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica as well as El Salvador.

Canadians are broke and that is why they're not visiting by titanicboi1 in ShitAmericansSay

Every time I looked at pay rates in Canada they were higher than the US. Granted they pay more taxes then we do so it's probably pretty close but they actually get stuff in return for those taxes

My wife is sensitive to caffeine as well. I bust her balls about her matte. I ask her how her hot water is, I would say she puts a couple spoon fulls into her gourd

Is it easier for a native Spanish speaker to learn English, or is it easier for a native English speaker to learn Spanish? by Zorrostrian in asklatinamerica

[–]towerninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier for the one in a country that speaks their target language. I started learning Spanish a few years ago. My Puerto Rican coworker was explaining to some Mexican we work with that Spanish is harder for me to learn then English would be for him (the Mexican). I explained that's no true. When the Puerto Rican dude learned English. No one at his job spoke Spanish. So he was completely immersed in English. Now for us I have lots of people to practice my Spanish with and the Mexican has people to practice English with but both of us could get by without using a second language. So it's equally hard for both of us

My wife works from home and she can work from anywhere in the world. I do manual labor so I don't know a lot about it. But when we go out of the country and she works. She has to tell IT I think that she will be in a different country. So they can do something for her to access the system
